^That Shockwave had been removed due to an accident? Nope, this is the first I'm hearing about it after 7 years on this site. In any case, I'm glad the Whizzer is still there.
Back to the topic. Yes the ride ops been announcing it that wolfie is leaving the lines are not that bad even on a busy day the wait averages 10 to 15 min I guess some people couldnt care less about this ride its probly gonna get longer in the last few weeks who knows. RIP Iron Wolf well miss the hidden MIckeys underneat your station and counting the X's while waiting in line on the stairs. Hope we get something good
Yes it was removed because of an accident. The axel on the rear car of the train broke during the first half of the ride. The train crawled to the midcourse block brakes and stopped there. That was the last of the ride.
there was one time i was getting water by the fountain by the wolf and saw this kid covered in protein spill walking out the exit to the wolf. i asked him where abouts he threw up and he said mid loop. Ever since that area always had a sour milk smell and always get a nasty headache. still a good ride but rough. just looking at the first drop you can see it change direction like 4 times giving riders that satisfying pinball effect with the shoulder harness and your head. haha
During AM testing the front car had it's axle break going up into the block break. It sat there in the brakes til mid day while they removed what was left of the front car, at which point they sent what was left of the blue train though the rest of the circuit, and it never operated again from that point forwards.
Shockwave had a history of similar issues and it's ridership was at rock bottom, so that was the last straw, Whizzer was saved Shockwave is gone. Whizzer had a giant banner covering it's entire sign saying to get your last rides in for a good month or 2 before it was supposed to be removed.

Funny how many people were screaming for Shockwave to come back a couple weeks ago before the Eagle backwards announcement, as I remember its walk-on status when it left. I liked it a lot and rode it too many times to count, but it's not like the park took out the most popular ride. Same thing with Tidal Wave. People honestly thought it might be coming back a couple weeks ago. Again, it was fun, but a total walk-on when it left. The GP is so silly sometimes.
Hmmm I guess Ill share my first experience with Wolfie. Basically by the end of the ride I wanted to hurl bad. First coaster thats ever made me wanna puke. Good times.
I finally managed to pick up the Iron Wolf Blueprint at Coasters After Dark, and it is a fantastic piece of Great America memoribilia. I noticed on the tube it said "106 of 200-Limited Edition", so I guess they only made so many. Better pick it up soon!
So, who's going to the Iron Wolf closing on September 5th? I think I got my last ride in at Coasters After Dark unless I decide to go on September 5th... Speaking of Coasters After Dark, The station was empty for Iron Wolf during the last hour of ride time.
After riding AE:B Backwards today the ride op said get your last rides in before 9-5 and then it will be moved to Maryland. Pretty much confirms that it's going to SFAm

Not quite sure on the policies of this forum, but going against park policies is a good way to feel the wrath of the banhammer. POV's aren't normally allowed at any Six Flags park.
I too think I also got my last ride on Iron Wolf at Coasters After Dark. I rode in the last row this time, and it wasn't rattling my head like it usually does.
^ Management will definitely say absolutely not, so save your breath and don't ask them. Employees don't work their way up the ladder by condoning coaster nerds breaking park rules.
^Unless you have a media connection doing a story on the ride, no. The only legal POVs would be using professional equipment and having it mounted to the car (and no, despite what one website may have you believe, duct-tape does not count).

Yet you say nothing about the hundreds of illegal POVs that CoasterForce takes...interesting.
As for the POV, since they probably won't let you film one, maybe you could ask for permission to use theirs? I know they have a pretty old one on YT, maybe with some encouraging they'll film a nice new. It'd be great to see the park start doing some HD povs.
^I really don't think CF videos are illegal i think they have permission. Do you really think they would have gotten away with it over 500 times. Plus unlike most amateurs alot of theirs start and end in the station in clear view of the ride ops. Just look at IW's Video
I don't know exactly how CoasterForce gets their videos, but I highly doubt they have permission for any of their videos. My guess is they're just really good at concealing the camera while filming.
Starts at the top of the lift and you can see them quickly hide the camera when they get to the brake run. They wouldnt do that if they had permission.
Guys, I think we are getting too involved in this.
You can be sure that it is most likely illegal unless you plan months in advance and send an email and stay in contact with, not only park management, but all of Six Flags' management. It's just one of those things where you need permission. While Coasterforce is either very sly or very clever, we will not know until they disclose such information. If you want to take a video, plan it. Don't just show up and ask the ride ops because they most likely won't know what to do. OR, if you whip our your camera on a ride, they can stop you on the lift hill (happened yesterday), and have a worker come up and talk to you about your camera operating habits.
The best we can all say is plan because I'm sure it's a magnificent idea. The park management will at least like you for your honesty and up-frontedness, you can be sure. Six Flags will be glad to not have another rule-breaking video on YouTube...it's just all in good taste to be polite. Plan, and at least you'll know what your procedures must be to continue (if you want to continue).
Also, if worse comes to worse, ask a YouTuber to use part of their video as part of yours. Find an online recorder like "Hypercam 2" and set it up to record their video once you have their permission. It's, not only all in good manners, but there are no feelings of guilt either!
I would hate to see any of you get in trouble because you absolutely HAD to film IW or something. It's ridiculous, their policies, I agree. It's not worth the risk though...as far as I know...
Last Visit, American Eagle BACKWARDS 5 times in a row right before the park closed. I cannot WAIT to go back for Fright Fest!
Whats the worst that could happen? You get kicked out? So? I personally don't care. It's just one day. Plus I dont live too far from the park so I can come back any other day again.
