Cool colors would look great on our skyline. (Bizarro, Green Lantern theme would look nice)
(sings)If you want to be my Chang-y, doesn 't matter if your black or white, or brown, or blue, or green, or red, or orange, or mauve, or yellow... 2010 trips- Dollywood, SFGAm, maybe SoCal

Plus Triple Play, Rue Le Dodge, Big Easy Balloons, Hometown Fun Machine, Condor lights, They tried yellow lights on Whirligig, Jester's Wild Ride, Superman, and yellow harnesses (I didn't say lapbar.) on every roller coaster except Demon plus King Chaos.

I'm going to Yell-o if they keep it Yellow (bad pun)

Seems to me, from looking at the new pictures at SFKKO (The site that Brian posted up earlier) that the same Trucks and Trailers used to haul the trains where used to take pieces of ride track to its new location.
I honestly cant see the Whizzer coming down for Chang, that is, if its coming. Its too much of a starter coaster for the majority of people and a "family" ride. Sprockets Rockets excluded. I could unfortunately see the Demon going away as the footprint seems to be relatively similar, its an old Arrow, and (just what ive seen personally) ridership is way down. Lets not forget the open space of Splashwater Falls. Now dont get me wrong, I have fond memories of the Demon and would hate to see it go, but I think wed all eventually grow to like Chang as its replacement. Ive seen some discussion here about it potentially going in at GoKarts-SSA but i just dont see how that could be done especially if they want to eventually expand Hurricane Harbor.
Just because THERE SITE does not specify its MOVING, means nothing!
There is no need for them to SPECIFY whats happening with the coaster, its CLOSED! Then in FALL of 2010, they will ANNOUNCE Chang New AT Six Flags Great America!

Not ,,,even,,,close!!!!
The SSA, Go Kart area is feasible and still have room for some waterpark expansion. Most of Chang if put there would extend into the lot.
Actually it would fir into both of those spots. I have done photoshop work with google map photos (at scale) with both spots. Both spots will work.

That doesnt matter though, if the ride gets old enough were it is beyond repair...they will have to get rid of it. They already have issues finding parts for the ride.
david wrote: Wha?! Are you kidding?! Chang got a paint job a few years back. A Ride that really needs a paint job is Rajin' Cajun! But that's another topic.
hmmm, that may be true, but look at the peeling paint:
If Chang needs all that, I sure hope that SFGAm is keeping up with Batman. Hasnt been to the factory for a refurb in about 17 years now. Demon in nearly 35 years.
Also all that peeling paint was indoors for 12 years and was part of a known defective paint job. With the 2 repaints since it was built they never bothered to paint inside the buildings where people cant see.
And if for some reason you want a straight answer, CSF doesn't offer any "refurbishment" services. They only fabricate new stuff, such as
* Turbine power bases and enclosures * Heavy weldments * Machine bases * Roller coasters * Structural steel * Louvers and dampers * Industrial equipment

Whizzer and Demon better not go these are 2 great coasters and fun too. If they were looking to build new coasters they should have rethought hurricane harbor or built it where Key Lime Cove is. But because of the finances of Six Flags inc I do not think that they will be adding anything this major after bucaneer battle.
^ I don't understand your though process... Why would Six Flags build a ride were Key Lime Cove is? Edit: I think you mean put HH there, but that would be a bit far from the park, so I don't really know how that would play out having the water park farther away.
Lets be realistic though. If Chang is truly coming to our park in 2011, do you really think they are gonna store the tracks somewhere this whole time where the whole public can pretty much see them? C'mon, it seems to me that they want to make this 50th anniversary a big thing and have it all be a big suprise til then.
It will be stored in a place where the public will see them because :
1.) They are bankrupt and the last thing the judge is going to approve is money to store the track at another location when it could be stored at the park for free.
2.) See what happened with shockwave; there is a nice sound berm with plenty of space on it....
3.) They can't keep it a secret (Which it isn't even really now...) when they have to go the the planning board for height variance permits; they do this months ahead of any construction.
