Well if they tell people how long its going to be, and it takes longer. Then your going to have alot of pissed off people, I think them saying "We have no idea" is a good idea and probably leads to less complaints then the ride ops guessing how long it will take. And about them telling you why a ride is down, most people don't know Rollercoaster parts...so if a ride op said the rides down while it gets a chaindog or something replaced. The ride op would then have to go into detail on what a chaindog is. A chaindog is a simple one to explain but more complicated break downs are probably alot harder to explain.Am I making sense?
If they were ever to say how long a ride is down, that should be left up to Guest Services. It is their job to explain situations to the customers. It shouldn't be a ride-ops job even if they know. Now lets discuss the poor excuse for a website that SF has. Deja-Vu was down from opening season until late July. During that time, the website should have put a statement on the front page saying that "DV will be down until further notice" or something like that. The way they have it now, DV was going strong the whole season. Its just common courtesy to let their customers know that a major ride is down for a long period of time. That isn't to much to ask.As far as using a ride-ops name online, I still don't see what the problem with it is. The park cannot prove that an employee opened their mouth based on a message board. Its that simple.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I feel like pouring a little gas on this fire for my last post before I go on vacation.Last year, Jack from Raging Bull stoped me on opening day and we talked for a minute. He told me something or another. Oops, I said a name.
yea...i guess it is better for a ride op to say "i dont know," but i still see a lot of pissed off people who want to get on the ride when its down and walk away mad because the ride op has no idea whats going on. but it would be a lot worse if a ride op said 10 minutes and it ended up taking 1 hour...

I would rather them say, I don't know how long then say 10 minutes and it end up being an hour or not opening. if they knew, I would want them to tell how long roughly. But they probably don't know anyways. Knowing the time it will be down is not what I always want to hear too. If it is a serious problem that may take time to fix then that would be nice to hear. Or if it is just down for a maintanence check. stuff like that we should be told in my opinion.

But this kid, whomever he may be, might know what he's talking about. As a ride operator, I find your and whiteygabe's remarks offensive. I personally am quite angry that you would use a ride-ops name on the internet. Did he give you permission to post that stuff? Did he? Or to use his name? All you people who think you know what goes on there, have absolutley NO IDEA. We try to do a damn good job for what we have to put up with. We deal with it all day long and for you to come up and start arguing with us about operations at the park is very disrespectful.
Thank you I am really gettin tired of entusiasts thinking we know every thing but we dont
