I consider it hang time or airtime, but mostly I consider it fun.
Wouldnt the penny just fall when your hanging on the Back Tower??? Cause i know if the harness wasnt there i would be going for a swim in the pond!!!  Have another TAB fatty!
No I have done this numerous times on S:UE at SFWoA, you take a penny, or the safe version, all ball on a string and you let it go just as you are coming to the top of the spike and grab it once you have begun to come back down to earth. For these 2-3 seconds there is total weightlessness and the penny floats... you then have to grab it out of the air. If you control the penny in front of you, you can do it on the front spike that twists.
What? I'm pretty confused on how that one works...

Yeah you don't do it when the LIM holds it... haven't you seen the Discovery Channel on S:TE when they let tennis balls go and they float? Same concept!

No... it wouldn't necessarily fall... Because the tennis ball still has energy (kinetic energy) (momentum). So it could still "float".
Umm... I'm still not really following you SFGAmFreak but that's okay. Like Corey said it has kinetic energy and that is what keeps it with you, the inertia. Throw a ball up in the air... when it hits it's maximum point that is what the coaster is doing on the spike. Since gravity doesn't matter, they decellerate (?) at the same speed and then start to plunge back down to earth. You can do this on either spike, any time up them, you just have to grab the penny before the holding break grabs you.

Best time i've ever had was on the 23rd of july 2002. In one hour we rode raging bull 6 times, once we were on the lift hill and I looked down and saw firworks. I've never had to look down to see fireworks before!
Worst was probably the 23rd of July 2003 (Same day, 1 year apart eh?). Really crowded, waited in Viper's station in blazing heat for 40 min. We rode 5 rides that day. Spent most of the time sitting on a bench near DeJaVu.
Best Experience: Superman Media Day... first ride, back row, pretzel loop at 5:00 AM forgetting how intense SFOG's was... feeling like I was going to die.
Either that or "Weight testing" V2 back when I worked there, riding in the front row, alone, with hundreds of people watching me waiting to ride. Worst Experience: Riding V2 with an infected testicle... and then trying to explain to first aid what happened. Just picture this... employee walks in "Yeah my testicle hurts really badly!" I think my best experience was in 1995 when my cousin and I rode Viper for the first time. That ride has such awesome airtime!! The lines were so short all day, the longest being 15 minutes for Batman. Everything else was a near walk on. Anyway, my cousin and I were on the train carrying the last riders of the night for Viper. When we stopped in the covered area before the station, the whole train started chanting, "Again! Again! Again!" Anyway, the operators gave us two free circuits after that, making it my favorite experience ever at Great America.
I really haven't had a bad experiences, but I do recall getting sick after eating and riding the Cliffhanger when I was about 10 years old. I had to sit out for an hour, but after that I felt fine. GREAT AMERICA RULES!!!!!!!!

There are way too many fun things at SFGAm to point out a particular one. One of em ill have to go with is... July 8, 1999. Got together with a bunch of people at SFGAm meeting a lot of the people I know today. Also, Coasterpalooza ACE event at SFGAm 1999...This is where i met just about everyone I know now from outside Illinois. This event brought a lot of new people together and they still are today. In a nut shell, Raging Bull changed everything for me.
I must have been right next to you...or one seat over. I believe I was in seat 8-2 during the first ride during media day. Very fun day that was. Go Bulls!

My best moment was probably when I was asked out about 10 sec. before the launch on V2 after realizing about 30 sec. before that that I knew her. Of course I said yes. Umm worst moment had to be when I broke my glasses in the Batman queue line.

I think my favorite memory of great america would have to have been mother's day of 2003. It was rainy and windy and barely any coasters were open, so we rode a whole bunch of flats for a while and watched some shows. It was really fun.
My worst SFGAm memory happened this year too. I had the flu but I still really wanted to go, and I started to get really sick. I went to the bathroom and the only stall open was the handicap stall. I got in and locked the door (or so i thought) and proceeded to throw up/go to the bathroom. I got up and started to feel a little dizzy, and thought I was going to pass out. I tipped over and ran into the stall door, which opened outwards because I hadn't locked it very well. There I was out in the crowded bathroom pantless and unable to get up quickly enough so that not everyone could see. It was actually kind of funny....

My best memory was on the last operating day of 2003. Just being able to run from coaster to coaster with absolutly no lines, riding in the rain, and the dark. Getting to experience Iron Wolf and Batman in the front rows, and having several rerides on Demon, and Raging Bull was totally awesome!
My worst memory just happens to be on the same day. Somewhere between Superman, Batman, and Iron Wolf I lost my car keys. I live pretty far away(Michigan's U.P.) and had no other way but to call a locksmith.  Finally Coaster Season!!
Well my best memory from this season would be... a rainy Sunday in September when I and my gf visited the park. Everything was practically a walkon (with the exceptions of DV and Superman of course). We ended up riding Viper like 11 times in a row at night, and RB 5 times in a row in the morning. We got like 42 rides total the whole day on things
 . Most of those were on rollercoasters.
My worst memory would have to be this past June.....We went on a Sunday as well. It was one of the first beautiful Sunday's that we had after all that rain. So the park was packed. We only got in like 13 rides on things the whole day. There was a not-for-profit group there that day called Chai Lifeline. They ended up bringing like 500 people, and they got to walk up the exits of all the rollercoasters all day! That got annoying after a while... SFGAM: next trip: Soon!

I feel your pain, I lost my key's on Superman. Had to get a spare set driven up to me (Not as far as you, only 50 miles). So I know how that is. Unfourtunatly they probably melted my keys down to create our rumored 'wild mouse'! (I never found them again)
My best time was the first time i rode the Giamt Drop in may 1998.
My worst time was that same day in line by Whizzer and after a hour standing in line the whizzer was broken down.

I got last Raging Bull ride of 2003 and afterwards i was so cold and so wet I could feel my legs and i couldn't really move to well..
but it was worth it....i got more than 10 rides in a row on it....i stopped counting after i reached 10, which was my previous record for rides in a row on it. *~There's a light~*
