Thanks SFGA11I guess the thing on there that I want to happen most is the one about paint jobs. Especially on the Whizzer and Demon. Every time I'm there, I notice how bad they are getting. And Deja Vu too. Last time I was with my friends(who are not coaster freaks) and even they were commenting on how bad Deja Vu looked!
Wouldn't you want a new and better desgin to build on the Hulks greatness? I'm saying this because even if you owned SF you would never be able to aquiree the Hulk from IOA, it would be to costly .
Even though Hulk is the result of genetic engineering, you can't clone it. Universal owns the patents on the gamma ray gun thingie. Unless you develop your own launch system, you wouldn't be able to have a B&M coaster. They only use chain lifts, and Hulk is the only exception (but B&M didn't design the launch system, so it's not really an exception, it's a coaster they built without a lift.)
1. Move the parking lot on the other side of the tollway and build a bridge.2. Put Shockwave back up3. Add a Giga coaster toward the tollway so the residences won't complain about the noise4. Fix Deja Vu and change the seat to 4 across5. Make to hours from 10 to 12 on weekends6. Add a floorless coaster in place of the Whizzer7. Repaint Iron Wolf and the Demon
Life is too short not to be drop 200 feet at 72 mph
I'm not sure, but I don't think they can legally be open after 10. I think it's in some agreement with their neighbors. So, you'd not only have to own Six Flags, but you'd have to own the neighbor's to be open until 12! I wonder how many of the neighbors that complain have been there since 1976... I'd guess maybe 2 or 3 houses have the same people living there. The rest should shut up at town meetings about the park.
Actually, Travis, I believe there were quite a few houses there when the park was built... I remember hearing something about a public outcry against the building of the park in the first place by people on neighboring land. So, if 2-3 people make up an outcry, then there is definitly a public outcry to reassemble Shockwave, just as there is an outcry to melt it to bits.
I think Travis is saying how many people have lived there since the park opened... There were probably quite a few houses there, but I'm sure some of the people that lived in them have since moved, and new people have moved in (in which case they chose to move right by the park, and have NO reason to complain).
Corey, more importantly than no reason to complain, they have no right to complain. It's like how in the past, around here, the people who moved in the subdivisions by ATW complain about the jets being too loud. Is what I don't understand is how these people who live near parks or other loud places don't just get used to it, and the noise becomes white. I live fairly close to railroad tracks, and within 6 months of moving here, I didn't notice it at all anymore. Where I used to live, it was basically under a flightpath to ATW, and I didn't notice at all. With the always identical sonding screams mixed with coaster roar, I can't see what would be hard about tuning that out.
If I owned the park...1) Paint jobs for all the rides that need it.2) Make the ride ops send the trains off faster. If they dont then tyey would get fired.3) Put ShockWave back up.4) Forget all about Gurnee's ride height restriction and add some big and amazing rides.5) Get rid of SSA an the go karts and add a coaster in that area.6) Stop buying from mainly B&M.7) Clean up the park.8 ) Tear up all the cement walkways in the park and put in all new cement. Then cover that with asphalt.9) Get more efficient mechanics.10) Lower the price of food and drinks.11) Get better food.12) If people litter or do graffiti then eject them from the park.13) If people chew gum or smoke then eject them from the park.14) Put the chair lifts back in.15) Bring the Batman Stunt Show back.16) When new rides are added they will have unique names17) Add more flat rides. Bring back Sky Whirl and Haybayler.18 ) Get rid of Camp Cartoon Network and put a flat in there.Thats pretty much all I can think of now. Ill add more later.
I like those especailly put Shockwave back up, bring back the Batman Stunt Show,, and put up Sky Whirl/Haybalyler again . A questions though, what is Gurnees height restriction for building rides?
The height restriction is about 300', maybe a little higher. It's the height of Sky Trek Tower. You can't just "forget" it, either. Don't go through the correct process for building anything, and the goverment can come and shut it down. That happend a couple of years ago at Six Flags Mexico. They were going to add a hyper, but started before they got proper permits, therefore it was never built. This isn't what you would do if you ruled the world, its what you would do if you owned SFGAm. Laws must be abided by when operating a park. And ejecting for chewing gum? Thats a bit fascist. Smoking, I hate it myself, but I would do what airports do. I'd give them a small, not ventilated room. Smoke in there or nowhere. Of course, I'd make these rooms far out of the way, as to not disturb guests on the midways.
The only reason I put the ejection for gum is because it seems like people have never seen a garbage can in their life. Yes I know you cant just forget about the height restriction. All you have to do is get rid of all the idiots on the board so you can build big rides.
