Name me one SF park that has a better PR team. I was referring to the chains of Six Flags and Cedar Fair by the way. I always forget there's multiple Disney and Universal parks but I wasn't counting them. They have more money and higher skilled teams within their marketing departments.
No one comes even close to Jeff at SFFT. Not a chance.
I don't agree with that regarding the PR teams but that's my opinion and I respect yours. Back on topic, I'm a bit surprised that X-Flight doesn't receive more recognition. I realize it's not a top roller coaster but it's still a solid ride and even among the GP I feel it sometimes gets overlooked. Decent ride all around though.

Our "awesome" PR department I believe is going to end up being the very last outlet to report vertical construction has begun. You'd think that'd be newsworthy or at least mention worthy

I wouldn't call Superman underrated. It still can provide a good thrill for being the only flying coaster in the mid-west. Everytime I ride it, I get thrown around pretty good. Sure it's a short ride, but it can pack a punch. During the peak operating season (usually during the summer) Superman always has a line that is 30 to 60 minutes. I would guess that SUF has this type of line almost everyday during the summer and on other really busy days. Correct?
I can't speak for X-Flight, since I haven't been on it yet.
SFGAm posted a lot of construction photos just a few days before it went vertical. To be fair, they're on break until Monday but I suppose they still could've tweeted something. I never thought about SUF being the only flying coaster in the midwest. I personally don't care for it, but it still draws in huge crowds daily and that's what the park cares about. I certainly don't think it's underrated.

Honestly, I very rarely want to ride S:UF, and X-Flight isn't that high on my list either. I generally like to ride coasters to feel free and to move through space. (Sounds weird, but that's what I like.) S:UF and X-Flight have VERY restrictive restraints that do not allow me to feel free. X-Flight is downright painful while waiting on the brake run as those vests get extremely tight (and I'm a big guy). Also, their compact layouts do a lot of tight turns which aren't really my bag. (The "moving through space" bit.) I enjoy the keyhole on X-flight and the rest is blah. I much prefer Wild Eagle's graceful out-and-back layout. You can even enjoy some airtime on Wild Eagle, although the restrictive vests put a huge damper on that.
This coming year SF has the option to remove the vest lock which would improve that aspect significantly. Of course that costs upwards of several dollars, so who knows that will happen.

So sorry, but can you explain that a little bit more? When you say remove the lock, does it mean the vests won't compress against your chest as much? just a little confused.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
I really hope they remove the vest lock. I've found a way around it, but it would be nice to get a ride on X Flight where I can just relax and not be thinking, "OK what do I need to do now to not get suffocated?"
I know it's a little off topic, but I'm really proud to have the only winged coaster in the chain, in my backyard. I'm surprised that other parks haven't gotten one. When it was announced I pictured it like B:TR. The whole story of the layout being designed just for our park, but they clone it at others. I guess it didn't go so well here. Oh well

Xflight is my favorite ride in the entire park.. next to Raging Bull as a close 2nd and Superman is my 3rd favorite. Those two rides are the ones I go on the most when i come to to the park.. i usually ride Superman 3 times if not 4 depending on the line.. Xflight i've been on twice in one day.. would do more but usually just don't have the time.
FParker185 wrote:X flight was designed for perfectly flat land, it's only a matter of time til it's cloned.
Well, hardly anybody like X Flight here @ SFGAm so I am not sure they would clone it. If they did the clones would also probably get a BAD rap like Superman Ultimate Flight.

While I would love to believe that, we are coaster enthusiasts. We have to look at the GP. The GP just doesn't like it. The only time the whole Que is used is opening day and during Fright Fest. Superman's Que is full throughout the whole year. People are just expecting A LOT out of it. Then it's a disappointment. That's why I have no expectation, then you can't go wrong.

FParker185 wrote:Not always, Batman for instance at every park it's installed in is a very popular ride, and it is neither tall nor particularly fast. Then at Cedar Point the last 2 times I've gone, the only ride has had any line at all was Maverick, Gatekeeper and Millennium Force both with 2 trains, both walkons wile Maverick sported a consistent 45 min wait all day running all trains and running pretty reliably.
Agreed. No matter how dead the park is, that ride always has a line. Maverick is my favorite ride at Cedar Point!

Very true. I like that Goliath is gona be in the back itll spread the crowd. Some will start up front and work to the right some will go to the left. Some will go through southwest territorry. And some will B-line straight to the back.
This thread doesn't really make much sense. People most certainly DO like X-Flight. The last two years it has had a million riders at almost the same time as Raging Bull. And people like Superman as well. Both rides are two of the most popular in the park. I don't think either are over-rated or under-rated either. I think people see them as what they are, gimmicky rides with a few great elements. If you're talking about the GP, then it's hard to judge if people think they're under-rated, because the most detailed review a casual once-a-year parkgoer will give you is "I don't really like superman but X-flight is awesome."
"Everyone, listen to me! These jerks killed Superboy. They've tried to kill us. Now they say they're going to tear this city apart. I say... like hell."
