It is wooden, because the structure is made out of wood. I'm not even sure why this is a discussion.

The structure doesn't matter, it all has to do with the track. Having a wood structure doesn't make Gemini a wood coaster.
I'm not sure if it was here or somewhere else, but somebody called Iron Horses the "next generation of wooden coasters." My response? "So, that makes the Gravity Group woodie hybrids with a steel structure the next generation of steel coasters, right?"

And speaking honestly wouldnt tubular steel roller coasters have been the next step in wooden coaster evolution? Just consider up until Disney, before them all coasters were wooden. Then steel came onto the scene and almost every coaster has been made out of it since.
It will be the same design as Outlaw Run. Topper Track throughout.
Me, as well as most of the GP, would call it wooden, because of how it looks. I think it should be classified by the majority of people, and I'm sure the majority of people would look at it and say it is a wooden coaster.

How is my logic wrong? Let's say you've never seen or heard of the RMC coasters. You go to Great America, and you see Goliath. What type of coaster do you think it is? Also, I'm sure the GP at both Texas parks and Mexico, would say those coasters are wooden.

Why base coaster classifications on the gp? Plenty of the gp is going to be walking by Goliath saying, "What's that; where did that one coaster go where your standing in it."

If you are going to base it on GP, then they are Rickety or Metal coasters with carts.
I really dont see a point in everyone trying to prove everyone else wrong. In all Honesty I really could care less about what type of ride it is. I dont give a damn if it is on a topper track or traditional wooden track....I cant believe how everyone is trying to outsmart everyone.
When you get to the top, and you hear that click, you better hang on, because your coming down quick!
As for steel structured woodies being the next step in the development of wood coasters, I got bad news, most of the Traver woodies notably Crystal Beach Cyclone and Revere Beach Lightning had a steel structure along with a majority of the Coney Island Cyclone amongst many old wood coasters. Also most GP I've come across recognize the steel structured wood coasters as being wood coasters.

It's a good thing to discuss things like this, even though I doubt anyone's opinion will change haha.

Its fun to fight it out. No matter what category it is in, if we had a poll for is Goliath going to be awesome or suck I think there would be a much higher margin of victory.

If you don't like the topic, don't comment. It's that simple.
I'm wondering if this RMC trend is just a phase, or if this is really a new generation of wooden coasters. Anyone know what kind of patents they hold, and if another company could duplicate it?
