Correct me if I am wrong but did the park not announce that the Whizzer would be dismantled prior to the Shockwave accident? If so then tell me how they could have done it as a cover up.

Saving the Whizzer was the cover up, planning to dismantle Whizzer did happen prior to the accident.

Wow, that incident had to be pretty freaky to the people riding that train. How was GA able to cover that up so well? I mean, when train gets stuck at the top of a lift hill for more than 10 minutes you almost always see a camera crew out there. I realize that nobody was hurt, but you think it would've gotten out somehow. Was Shockwave open anymore after that? I don't remember when it officially closed that year. Also, wasn't a wheel assembly malfunction also thought to have been the leading cause of the accident on Big Thunder Mountain this past summer? If that was the case, it seems that it was very lucky that the ops were in a position to see what was happening and were able to shut things down. Anyone have any more info?
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.

A few of the dumbest rumors I ever heard was a few years ago.

1. (2001 dumb rumor) Eagle will be knocked down and rebuilt in Steel for its anniversary.

2. (2001 also) Shockwave will be completely enclosed in tunnels and have no more OTSRs.

3. (2001+) Anything that has to do with a 4D!

4. (2003) Shockwave is gonna be rebuilt.

5. (2002) The removal of the Whizzer was fixed...it wasnt.

Shock Wave did not reopen after the accident. It was SBNO from 8/3/02 - 9/22/02 when they began dismanteling it.
I don't know how they managed to keep it off the news but they did.

It didn't make the news because there were no injuries or deaths and the ride stopped in an upright position.

Deja-Vu has vallied a few times but that never made the news as well.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

When Deja Vu vallied in May of 2002 it was on the news because i just got home from college that weekend and i saw it on TV. They were stuck for three hours and the fire trucks had to come out to get them off.

I remember saying on this site that the Whizzer was a cover up. The park wanted to take down the ride for years. The wheel assembly accident was the excuse they needed to finally take it down. They could have fixed it but they decided to take it down instead.

In an update of various websites around the internet i have came up with a few more rumors:

1. A new Ride called "WaveRunner" will be installed in the 2005 season at Great America.

2. Demon will be taken down after the 2004 season.

3. American Eagle will be removed, and in its place will be the aforementioned WaveRunner.

4. Viper will be running backwards in 2004.

Once again dont beleive what you hear on the internet.

I'm pretty sure no one was seriousley injured.

I read rumors all the time on sites..........me believing them is a different story .

The dumbest rumors I have heard in my opinion is B:TR getting VFD trains, ShockWave being assembled where Winners Circle/SSA is, SFMM getting a hyper woodie, X replacing Eagle, Dueling 500ft. Impulses at CP, and more.
