Why throw away a genuine improvement for another roller coaster

I don't have kids myself, heck i'm not old enough for them haha. But even i recognize the bad state both kids areas are in. Also as it's been stated before families are the money makers and the ones to spend the most at these parks. I think it makes more sense for a kids area refresh and a family launch than a Giga
That’s why it doesn’t make sense and I’m not buying it for one second.

The park desperately needs a kids area before a Giga. And getting a Giga three years after adding a major B&M just doesn’t make any sense. This would be a huge disappointment if it turns out this way.

Not to mention that any plans they may have could quickly go out the window under the new CEO.

I would take any rumors with a grain of salt. The only thing we do know is that the kids area is not coming in 2026. And the park is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The announcements from the company that had all the new rides coming was not a public announcement. It was specifically for investors so they knew what was coming. It was just obviously then made public.

Look you can be mad you can not believe me
I honestly don’t care
I know what I know
I’ve seen 4 layouts for the Giga
It’s been in the planning stages already for the past 2 years and when the merger happened it was put front and center as a must for the park. They have huge plans for this park to drive revenue and boost attendance and this is only the beginning. The want to see us transform into a resort type destination just like Cedar Point and Great Adventure and a Giga will be the thing that can draw people from around the world.

I do agree we need a kids area but don’t fret cause it’s in the plans just not sure when it will happen now.

Don forget,
We weren’t supposed to get Wrath this year…it was supposed to be the kids area and wrath was the planned coaster for the 50th and they swapped plans. Things get swapped all the time and who’s to say things won’t get swapped again. That’s why I said unless things change drastically the Giga is coming.

ChicagoCoasterGuy, I believe you.

Six Flags recently affirmed, major thrill rides, not family rides deliver the greatest return on investment.

It's all about the customer base.

I am sad to see the kid's area being pushed back, but from a business standpoint, it makes perfect sense. Families do not have much expendable cash in this current economy. It's teenagers and adults who live at home; they are the ones who have the most expendable cash. They learned their lesson from Buccaneer Battle and will not waste money or real estate on something that has little to no return on investment.

Sky striker did wonders, pushing Great Americas attendance back above 3 million guests. We currently don't know how wrath performed, but from what I've heard, it did exactly what it was intended to do.

I'm still sticking with my prediction that sky screamer and cajun will be immediately disassembled and sent to Great America for 2026 along with the improvements for the 50th anniversary. The sky screamer pretty much has to come to Great America, because it doesn't have the proper earthquake bracing it needs for California's safety standards, ruling out Magic Mountain. Ragin Cajun is an easy fit right next to Joker and would require no retheming since it was originally built for our Mardi Gras section anyway.
