I'm sure this just ruined FF

Big Frank wrote:Sector 7: Actors were good but needed more decor.
NO WAY! They got something right? BTW it's kind of creepy to just stand there filming scaractors (I saw you doing it)

Big Frank wrote:Hellmouth: demons were goodlooking but needed more theming
What should they add?

Big Frank wrote:Tinseltown terror: actors were ok was kind of confused with the area 51 trucks and ufo in the middle.
I agree it's weird to have Area 51 in SWT, however TT has like 200% more actors this year

Big Frank wrote:Ruins of fenir: thought actors were good but decor was sloppy it was just abunch of sticks thrown around.
The ignorance of this statement is amazing

Big Frank wrote:Necropolis: I thought it wasnt as good compared to last year in general.
Why?

Big Frank wrote:Port dead: thought actors were ok but not much decor.
Perhaps true...for now

Big Frank wrote:Burn em burried circus: decor was ok the actors were pretty good here.
Decor was just ok?

Big Frank wrote:Bayou du vaudo: thought there were more actors but it was kind of dull.
Well what would have made it better?

Big Frank wrote:Mot: thought it was just ok it was mostly old same animatronics actors were ok chainsaw was the best.
What kind of budget do you think they have?

Big Frank wrote:Primal Scream: two short and I only saw 2 actors it pretty much sucked.
So how would you have made it better?

I'm not saying it sucked it was just ok all in all. There were positives and some negatives to me. Positives Haunted Houses and actors were good they even frightened me now i know what it feels like when your not the monster. The Negatives Decor and theming need some work and primal scream wasnt great but I heard larry is back on stt so thats good.

The week prior to the Opening Day of Fright Fest we were hit with 5-6 days of constant rain. Decorations and other effects can't get put up in the rain. This week we had absolutely gorgeous weather, so I am only assuming the park went nuts to get everything up that should of been up last weekend.

I am going tonight and will let you all know how everything is.

Overall, I'd rank this as yet another disappointing Fright Fest. The one highlight was the ride graveyard. Major props to those in the sign department for some nice work. Other than that, pretty standard crap. :)

I heard the park was overly crowded today. My friend went and he said it's been nothing but nuts there today. Way too many people

Isn't that what it's always like the 2nd/3rd weekends of October? The second weekend of Fright Fest in 2003 I remember Raging Bull and Vipers lines touching, and this was before HH so Viper still had that big queue house, and before Flashpass so no person standing there controlling the station flow.

It won't be that insane the next couple of weeks will it? My friend was really mad at how crowded it was and not to mention the computers went down at Massacre right as he was about to go in and they wouldn't let him in. He was furious

^^It's Fright Fest....it draws the crowds of people like it always tends to do. Mix that with the nice summer weather this weekend and you've got swarms of people.

Too many people still (after all these years) tend to go in with the mindset that "Well, there's no way people are going to the park because _______________" (fill in whatever reasoning comes to mind) and then are pleasantly in for a shock of their life when they realize that some 20,000 other people were thinking along those same lines.

I'm not trying to be negative, more like speaking reality when it comes to the situation.

^^It depends who said that - 3 hours for RB. People exaggerate stuff. Sure, it might have been long, but I doubt 3 hours. Well, let's think why would it be that crowded? First off, one of the days in which they had a power outage during the summer, they gave people a ticket to come back from September to Fright Fest, so that's a lot of people with free tickets. Of course you have the great weather. Is American Eagle down to one side, or not? Iron Wolf is gone, and it got a little line, and I don't know if Batman was working today or not? It was open yesterday, so I wonder if it was still open today. If just those 3 rides were either closed, or running 1 side, the capacity would be down by around 2000 people a hour! Also, maybe people thought they could get on water rides again if they came today because of how warm it was, but I believe they are probably all closed.

Park was insanely crowded tonight. Got there about 6:30 and stayed until 10. Rode Terror Twister 2, obviously... Can I post here... Stay seated! I got my cup spinning amazingly well to be stopped half way through the cycle because some moron stood up.

Lots more fog this weekend - ALL ride signs are up (except Rue Le Morgue's) which was up last weekend but now Dodge has returned - who knows.

Biohazards sign (Whizzer) is simply fantastic. Kudos to the sign creators on that one.

What's up with East River Kraken? (Crawler). Was closed last Sunday and again today. Anyone know anything?

Let's just pretend this was the opening weekend of Fright Fest - as everything, minus ERC and some aspects of TT2, are working and decorated amazingly well.

I don't understand why any of you go to the park on a Saturday during FF. It is usually insanely crowded year after year. Friday nights is where it's at.

Uh, hearing these crowd reports from yesterday. I'm going today. I know it will be crowded, but Sundays are usually less crowded than Saturdays. Well, if there are long lines, I'll just ride TT2 the whole time.

I wasn't complaining bud, just reporting to all who weren't there how crazy busy it was. I hope this nice weather gets out of here for the final 3 weekends, because that really draws crowds. Fortunately the monsters wandering the streets are actually good at what they do. It is enjoying to grab some nachos, sit down and watch them scare the living bejesus out of all the little 14 year old girls that travel in a huge pack. LOL.

The pirates in Port Dread (Yankee Harbor) made my 30 minute wait for Angelo's pizza go by much faster. They kept chasing teen girls into Angelo's and standing by the doors so they couldn't leave.

As for Crawler, something is wrong with the ride. I have no idea what, but they have the center of the ride opened up, there are barrels of lube everywhere, and there's a forklift in the ride area.

^^ Saw that on East River Crawler on Fri, there was a guy crawling in and out of the center of the ride. I gotta guess there is a hydraulic issue from all the barrels there. Either that or they could be winterizing it (or both depending on the nature of whatever happened)

The warmth will bring people out, but since many people work today, it's a lot less crowded than weekends. We went last year (and are going today) and the first several hours were pretty good for walking right on rides.
