I've had my head banged around by both Kumba and Batman: The Ride in the past. If I ranked coasters, these would probably both be in my top 5. On the other hand, I don't ever recall my head coming into contact with anything on Kraken, and this one would probably sit towards the bottom of such a list, so I'm not a subscriber of this theory. An intense coaster is liable to toss you around a bit. A fluff coaster is just that- Fluff.
^Yeah, your are right about Kumba, and that one terrible transition (It's another corkscrew thing), but really Batman the Ride? I never get head banging on that whatsoever! For a ride like Demon, I think it does bangs kids heads because they are smaller, but when you grow older, I don't feel nothing ever on that. If it's doing that, maybe the height requirement should be higher. Kids go on it because they can, but maybe in reality they aren't tall enough to not get banged around.
I think Iron Wolf is just so violent if you don't do nothing. It's not a little bang at all. It's rough as anything bang.

Havn't found too much head banging on anaconda but more like elbow banging due to the way your arms are positioned in relation to the grips on the OTSR,Dominator is starting to get rough though.
I don't think so. Since the rumor came up he's been posting on other sites about how much he doesn't want Iron Wolf since "it's a POS and Six Flags America deserves better." I'm yet to see him say why he thinks its so bad (I doubt he's ever ridden it) and SFA people should just be happy to get anything in general. Well, all park people need to be happy just to get something in general, but still.
I may (but probably won't) have an opportunity to ride the Wolf one final time depending on when I move from California. I'll be swinging through Milwaukee that week but it all depends on a few things at this point. We shall see, hope I can though.

I was expecting there to be sign saying "Ride it for your last time" or something. I was surprised to see there wasn't one there. The only time I heard about it closing in the park was a lady telling me it was when I purchased some discounted Wolf accessories.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)
Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
I bet they will, eventually. Probably Labor Day weekend.
I had no plans to visit GAm anytime soon. It's unfortunate that this park needs to subtract rides in order to earn my money. This will be the last time for a long time- it's been a steady, unfortunate downward trend since 2002.

I do not get what you are trying to say. Six Flags Great America, like any park, removes rides at times when they become too costly to maintain and do not warrant more money to be put into them. They are either unpopular(Iron Wolf) or a maintenance nightmare (Splashwater Falls, Deja Vu). Every park does this. Not just Six Flags Great America. Why has it been a downward trend? Since 2003 we have added:
Superman Mardi Gras Hurricane Harbor Another Water Park expansion Little Dipper Dark Knight Buccaneer Battle Sky Trail ....
Now, I know you may hate most of these. But HH and Superman were successful additions and are very popular to this day. The park has to think about three things always:
tribar wrote:^When was the last time SFGAm cared about Capacity. The Correct answer is 1999
Well if were looking at capacity, I think a Wing Rider would be a nightmare at the beginning but once the Ride Ops were familiar with loading people onto the ride I think it would have pretty good capacity.
Any new ride that is not a wild mouse or a slow water ride will help with capacity. We badly need a new ride with capacity better than we got from Deja Vu.
