I'm a little disappointed it isn't full trip, as I think the area between Pictorium and Whizzer would be great filled with fog and scare actors. That being said, I'm still super excited and grateful were getting a new house, new walk through, and two new themed attractions which is more than many of the other parks can say. (Take a look at Georgias line up and you'll see how lucky we really are.)
Demon and Dare Devil Dive (SFOG) share the same description on their Fright Fest pages. I'm sure different rides from various parks share descriptions as well... obviously no big deal since they probably didn't want to put too much time into them, just an observation.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)
Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
You all do know that the JPM folks WERE local talent, right? I knew some of them.
Yes, I didn't imagine that peeps were flown in from Australia to work in Gurnee. I didn't mean local in a geographic sense. I meant local as in part of the parent company and not third party. There is a reason companies outsource things to vendors - to gain expertise and efficiency. The reasons they take things back in house are almost always cost related. Financial decisions simply do not take into account the intangibles - they are not designed to. But the end result - while better for the bottom line - loses something. JPM is a very clear example of this.
I think I'd like to see that - an Australian zombie!! But there's lots of reasons companies outsource. All the jobs that have been outsourced and offshored like call centers and manufacturing. they weren't outsourced cause they think they're experts at it. They did it cause it's cheaper to do.

Another way to look at it. Hey - at least they are decorating ANY of the train this year. That's cool.
Thats true haha. Isn't this the first year they are decorating the train? Unless they used to do it ages ago.

maybe to make part of it ok for families? that way hopefully no one can sue when their kid got scared at fright fest!!!!
That could be true too....oh how people are looking for easy ways to get money...what better way than to sue! America's new form of income! Inquire with your local lawyer today!
Or maybe theyll use half of the train not decorated for a preshow and the decorated ones for the guests who paid to ride it. It will be interesting what theyll do with it or what part of the park will the train stop for the haunt at night.

Well according to what DejaVu2001 said, the themed decorated area will be the part from Hometown Square to County Fair. So a fairly decent length of track area will be themed and decorated. But yeah I can also see the park using the normal non themed track part being like an intro to the train ride, then slowwwly the train ventures into the haunted area. mwahahaha.
I went to the SFGAm Fright Fest page and I love the intro video they have! Makes anticipation better!! I looked on the tickets tab on the site and it looks like they are currently offering a payment plan for a 2013 season pass. According to the site payments are as low as $5.79/month. There is also a $5.99 service fee to online orders.
TIckets are $61.99 general admission for Fright Fest!! Now THAT is a rip off right there. I was expecting maybe a $5-$10 increase. I hope there will be a significant price change online as opposed to the park's ticket prices. Also I hope I can still bring in a Coca Cola can to the park and get that usual $34.99 ticket price..there is NO way I am paying over $60 for a one day ticket. If I have to might as well buy a season pass then.

Um. General admission at the gate hasn't been under $54.99 since 2005, so I don't know where you're getting the idea that there was some huge price hike this month. Additionally, it has been $61.99 for quite a while now, maybe even part of last year. Before that, it also spent some time at $59.99.

Um. Well I haven't seen a coke can with any Fright Fest promos on them so right now I am kind of in the mentality that I will have to pay $61.99. I don't go often because I am quite busy doing other things. You don't sound too sure of your information yourself Fruity Pebbles..
^ I'm not positive because I have no reason to pay any attention to exactly when ticket prices change. The point here is that you complained about the price, and then immediately say you expected a $5-10 increase. And the last 7 seasons COMBINED are still within the $5-10 increase YOU said you expected
^^ Coke cans aren't the only way to get a discount. I've seen them at tons of stores, restaurants, and of course just buying them online. No one ever actually pays full price to get in. Of course the smartest thing would be to just buy a season pass.

You definitely wound like an expert to SFGAm! I originally thought tickets were $34.99, thats why I thought the price of $61.99 was too much. You sure know you're stuff. You're the only person here who only gives me $#!t fanboy. Unless you have something nice to say, I'll talk to you, other than that don't even bother talking to me, this is the second time I have to warn you. Keep it up.

[/quote] Online Prices aren't up yet for Fright Fest. Just a general $61.99 price is up. I hope the discounted prices go on the site soon.

I call out anyone who contradicts themselves. And you're warning me? Who made you a moderator?

Stay on Topic Please.
w00dland's note: Last time I checked your weren't a Moderator either. Both of you need to stop pushing each other's buttons.
Today as I was driving on 94 I saw a large banner in the spot on AE where Tiny usually sits... I was driving past pretty fast so I couldn't read the whole thing, but from what I saw, it said "RIP Tiny". There was some smaller writing under that, that I couldn't make out. I thought this whole "Tiny is missing, help us find him!" thing was a publicity stunt at first but now I'm starting to believe it more...

Well hopefully in today's Mutation Monday photo album update there will be a picture of the banner.
I've heard that Tiny needed repairs and will not be available in time for this year. We'll have to see what the banner says.
Pictures for today are starting to go up on the park's Facebook page. These two show the walkthough you will enter after exiting the Dead Line Haunted Train.
From Todays Update: They did a pretty good job cleaning up Iron Wolf's spot. Is the one ride shown from BBNN from the earlier days? Six Saint's Cemetery will be returning this year. Also you can see the Sky Whirl cages better.
I wonder how they will keep people on the path in the walkthrough section of Deadline where Iron Wolf was. My guess would just be fences but I don't know.
Is that swing ride with the orange "rockets" above actually a ride that our park used to have? or did we just get it from somewhere else to use for Fright Fest?
^ Operated in Hometown Park until the end of the 2001 season when all the kids rides were cleared out of that area. Since then, the rides have been in pieces by the Railroad storage tracks.
Awwww no tiny this year? Oh well, I always loved driving by on the Highway and seeing it first thing on American Eagle. Always made me excited! Well, I guess we will see you next year Tiny!!
I think its really pretty cool for those who are going to ride the dead line, that they get to walk through a spot thousands of people have never gotten the chance to since Iron Wolf was in that spot. I definitely am gonna try not letting this opportunity pass up and walk through where IW used to be...who knows, there may be something there next year and you will never get to walk through that area ever again.
