First, let me begin by saying how awesome the weather was today. Very gloomy, got me pumped for Fright Fest, yet was still warm. The crowds were light (as any buyout would be) and ALL rides were staffed and ready to go.
The American Eagle (Red) only had 1 train running all day. Blue had 2, so either they felt 4 trains would have been overkill, or I am totally out of the loop and one of Eagle Red's trains has been down for other reasons. Not sure, maybe others have ideas. I am sure all 4 trains will be cruising on Saturday.
I will admit, I took zero pictures of anything. Why you may ask? Honestly, there was really nothing to photograph. They literally only had a small sprinkling of signs, ride transformations and other decoration. I will now go through everything I saw in as much detail as I can.
The front pond was not red, but the torches that burn within it were in place. The big pumpkin dude was sitting in front of the Columbia just like last year. All the flowers on both sides of the pond were gone, but no decorations of any kind were out.
Larry is still not on top of Sky Trek. I walked briefly into that area over by Sky Trek/Go Karts and saw the huge UFO prop, probably for Cell Block "A"? Not quite sure.
Nothing to report around Whizzer/Triple Play, other than LAFF's sign is up.
If they plan on having Snakes on a Train again this year, no signs of any kind could be seen. Terror Twister's walls, lights, DJ Terror and speakers are all ready to go, but was not operating under Frightful conditions... (Bummer - my favorite ride.) Giant Drop had no signs it would transform into Hellevator, then again, not much has to be done to it for it to become Hellevator - so we can still hope. Mayor Slayer's hearse is still outside Terror Twister.
Then we come to Demon. Some people might be disappointed to know they have a lot of work to do. This year, however, the rats that were once scattered all over the front lawn area (where the sign is) are now climbing all over the actual letters of DEMON. The red lights were in place under all the trees in the line queue. Rise of the Demon was partially in place, going around The Wall. The fences were up, but nothing more than that.
Revolution has tons of decorations on it, mostly skeletons and what not. From the top of it dangle what looks like skeletons and axes. Perhaps Revolution will become "Haunted" this year... We'll have to see.
The American Eagle's station is enclosed, with the appropriate cobwebs and spiders inside. Red lights in all the fixtures, and Tiny and her babies are along the helix. Eagle will definitely be Haunted for Fright Fest again this year, that much I can tell you.
Iron Wolf gave no signs of becoming "The Predator" this year. The only signs I did see is the statue of the Predator Six Flags has was outside Iron Wolf, and under the trees in the line queue were blue and green, just like last year.
Fiddler's Fling had bodies splattered against the walls, but no new sign was visible. Will it be Fiddler's Flung or Space Command? We'll see on Saturday...
The train station was not blocked off. Not sure if the train will be running this year for Fright Fest, as last year when I went to this buyout it was blocked off already. The sign across the tracks did not say "Visit Necropolis" or whatever it says, so not quite sure. No trains were running today.
Logger's Run and Roaring Rapids were operating today. I saw some knuckle-heads riding them! LOL!
Nothing had been done for Necropolis, no signs or any advertising.
Seven Sins Cemetery is done, for the most part. All the booths are up, the entrance is up and ready. "Rue Le Morgue" was running (mostly) under Frightful Conditions. The lights went off but no music or fog came out. Along the walls they have body bags that read "City Morgue" or something of the sort. Condor showed no sign of becoming "The Birds" - but, and I could totally be wrong, it looked as if it was running the Fright Fest cycle, stopping mildly at the top. I could totally be wrong.
Another thing I could totally be wrong on is King Chaos. I do not think it will be Haunted, but the cycle that ran today was completely different than a few weeks ago... at least for me. The old version, and please bear with me because I am not so good at describing ride cycles and some of you are... but... The old version started by flipping you continuously upside down 3-4 times, very quickly, as the big arms slowly move downward. That was pretty much the ride. The cycle now, did 2 huge loops, locking the carriage we're in and the big arms moving quickly around fully in a giant circle twice. Afterwards, it rocks back and forth a bit and does (which is similar to what Trailblazer did, except now think front to back and not side to side) a huge loop quickly (without us going upside down) and then does the finale of locking and slowly moving over the pond in front. Sorry for the huge wall of text, and if this means nothing to you, ride King Chaos on Saturday... Then tell me if you understand!! LOL.
So, that is about it. Not much to really report other than this. I hope everyone has a wonderful time at Fright Fest on Saturday! I'll see you all in line!

Haha, sounds so casual. Just some bodies splattered on the wall. Also, those moving bushes scare me so much
I am going like the 11th or 18th or something, and I am so excited. Fright Fest is just so peaceful and amazing. The cold wind blowing in your face with orange and yellow leaves, and every has their sweaters on while riding raging bull, damn, it's just my ecstasy.
I have a question about necropolis. Do they use it besides on fright fest? If not, I think in the next like 5 or 10 years, they should transform that into a new section of the park.

There must have been an issue with the second red train. They don't really save anything by only running 1 train. 1 train-op still requires the same number of employees as 2 train op.

That definitely has me confused. How did the UFO end up over there

It would suprise me if Giant Drop ever became Hellevator again after the SFKK thing.

The train will not be operating for Fright Fest. The Scenic Railroad closed for the season Labor Day weekend. Based on your report though, the park as a whole seems to be way behind with FF set-up compared to last year. We'll see if they can get everything done in the next 5 days.

I remember in 04 it used to go back and forth, lock, then to 2 giant loops, and the third time around it would unlock then do 5 or 6 flips, it would do the back and forth unlocked then, go up fast, lock, then do the face first finale but it was more upsidown that what it does now.
King Chaos has never run a 5-6 flip program. The 2 programs were a 2 flip program and a 4 flip program. If you saw it flip more than 4 times in 2004, either there was a problem with the ride, or the operator had the ride set on the wrong load setting.
^In case you haven't been able to tell from previous posts like that, there's no way of telling ahead of time. I'd have to say that it will be busy though, especially since it's Fright Fest.
^There is a topic about it in the Off-Topic Forums if you would like to read it. I would tell you what it is but I am not exactly sure myself what it is.
