Yes, I see the Press Release said that but is not very clear. At NCC Tim Black said that it would be from the train to the Bridge. They never said anything about other part of Orleans Place.
Also, if you read Daily Herald it says, "The new roller coaster will be the highlight of the 2-acre expansion, located just south of Orleans Place, in front of the Racing Rapids water ride, Storey said."
Another Quote: "The restaurant in the new Mardi Gras area will also be renovated to accommodate our new theme," Storey said. "We will also be building a band shell and featuring jazz and bluegrass bands every night the park is open."
Ahhh you dont get tickets for Media Day just so you know. You have to be part of the Media (Tv News,News paper, website, ect) or be invited, or win some sort of contest like last year they did the Clark Kent thing.

They said they hope to have all the attractions up nd running by the time the park opens on a daily basis. That doesn't nessecerly mean that a few of them won't be open in time for opening day.
At the NCC, they give you a special postcard to fill out and send in. Then they select so many to go to media day. If you are selected, then you are invited. They did not say if they would mail you an invite or if they would call you or if they would e-mail you.
Wow some people just cant read a newspaper article for their life. Chitown posted an article that was published today. Most of that information came from the press release and NCC. Now it said that Orleans place will be renamed to Mardi Gras. I trust a newspaper, where they have the press release , over a person who is so excited about the new additions that they only hear half of what is being announed. I guess we will have to wait and see to prove some people wrong.
Well maybe this year's media day won't be freezing cold like last year. Riding Superman about 75 times that day last year seemed like a chore, but it was so hard to get off!
Might I remind you all this is the first permanent Disk-O ever?
Mardi Gras is going to make the ST expansion look like a mockery. On top of the Wild Mouse, Top Spin, Balloon Race, and Disk-O, Mardi Gras will also be equipped with a bandshell which means those concert rumors may be true after all!
What this proves is that SFGAm does care about theming and not just big rides anymore. This could be the birth of a much cooler SFGAm!
I didn't know it was a Rockin' Tug until I checked out kylecoasterworld. I still can't believe my parents wouldn't let me go just because it was my birthday. This is still a very sweet gift from SFGAm though! I'm just glad they had the press release in the paper the day of the con BEFORE the presentation! That made me very happy as well. And as for the Rockin' Tug. Cool. Disk-O would be better.
I'm scared. SFGAm is going to be a big yellow spot on the map in 2004. Beware the yellow...

I agree, there isn't much they can add that can top the Southwest Territory expansion. The themeing and rides that were all added to that area make it one of the most popular areas in the park.

How did they invite you? e-mail?
You recieve it through the mail, you know, in your mailbox or PO Box. To get invited you have to be on their media list, if you run something media related (IE WORTHY site, or your a news reporter or whatever) you can request to be invited and you might be.
The rides in the new Mardi Gras area may not open until the 3rd week in May. Will they open the new Mardi Gras area or keep it blocked off untill then.
Well if it's not ready for opening day I assume they will have the southside of Orleans closed off (with Rapids Closed) although the S:UF part would stay open - just my assumption though but I hope it's ready for opening day.
