2007 opening day: April 28th?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Chitown on November 6th, 2006, 8:16 am
Not a big deal and just something to talk about.

The SFGAm official website says "thanks for a great 2006, see you in April 2007".

Last weekend of April is on Saturday, April 28th.

Safe to say that is public opening day.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

The park opened the last weekend in april this year so it looks like the same will happen next year. The park could open a little earlier in the month but I doubt that would happen.

There is this thing before the season starts is called advocate day. It is where only advocate workers can go and bring their families. And is free of charge im goin next year because my mom works for advocate so it will be nice to go before the season starts. :D Also, I Think it will probably be like open on the same day as it did this year.

They usually have done that the past few years and most likely will this upcoming year, but they haven't officially announced it yet.

I'm going there on that day, even if I have to walk there. (I live at the very south end of 294.) So if you see a chubby white dude walking north on 294, please give me a lift.

Not sure if this means anything, but the website has replaced "See you in April 2007" with "See you in spring, 2007" That leaves 3 possibilities.

1. They are still opening in April and changed it for no apparent reason.

2. They are considering opening later.

3. They are considering opening earlier.

I know when Shapiro first took over, he mentioned something about extending the operating season, but I don't know if this is related. Also, Shapiro seems to change plans alot so he may not be looking at lengthening the season anymore.

No, if they were going to open earlier, it would still say April.

Not if they opened in March. But they obviously wouldn't do that.

^ Exactly. It is not at all likely, but it is possible. Great Adventure has opened in March and they have similar weather (sometimes even worse).
