Height at sfgam

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby sfgamer2 on July 30th, 2004, 6:58 pm
Earlier today I was talking to my mom about sfgam's roller coaster height order. I'm not sure but I think I was right. Here's what I gave her.

1.Raging Bull 202'
2.Vertical Velocity 185'
3.Deja Vu 177'
4.American Eagle 127'
5.Superman Ultimate Flight 115'
6.Demon 102'
7.Iron Wolf/Batman 100'
8.Viper 85'
9.Whizzer 70'
10.Ragin' Cajun 40'
11.Spacely's Sprocket Rockets 27'

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You see I like the cubs and the white sox. If it came down to the world series I'd pick the cubs.

I said V2 was 185.

But I was close enough.

What were your sources?

Maybe the reason our dejavu isnt working, is because it doesnt go high, so when it gets to the second spike, it doesnt go that high up and cant catch on?

THEY'RE ALL THE SAME SIZE. MAGIC SAYS THEIRS IS BIGGER.
Their station may be further up than GAm's (but I doubt it cause the stations are the same).

Both parks claim the same speed at 65m.p.h. so MM's is no bigger or better than ours.

I'm sure they are the same size. They are clones of each other and the same prototype. They would have to change other stuff also if they were different heights. A good example of SF not giving proper heights is what happened at SFMW. The ride was over it's clearance but they said it was only 150 I believe. Well, believe it or not someone found out that there was a coaster in Gurnee that was about 30 feet taller and went the same speed and they realized something was a little fishy and they had to alter the ride. I can never be sure with the stats they give.

I was talking to ride ops for superman one time and they said that ours was built first but started operation last. I know that has nothing to do with the topic but it is a useful thing to know.

Sorry, but that's incorrect. Georgia's S:UF was built a full year before SFGAm's and SFGAdv's.

The towers of Vu are probably the exact same height, but they are statistically different because the height of the ride and station is higher up than our station.

That really shouldn't matter. Don't they measure height in relation to the station, and drop in relation to how far it drops?

For D Vu, rcdb.com says they are all the same height and have the same drop, so the official park statistic is wrong.
