Do you still like IW?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Ilovthevu' on July 21st, 2004, 2:15 pm
I'm curious to see how many people actually like IW. The reason I say this is because I thought most people hated it because of the head-banging. However, many of you guys and girls said that it is an underrated ride.

I like the IW and it's definetely in my top six rollercoasters at the park. So, if you like the ride, please post it, and if you don't say why.

Yes, i still like iron wolf even that your head gets banged up. Its fine in the upper rows, but in back row its really bad for head hitting.

Yes, Iron Wolf is awesome. You just need to know how to hold your head on the ride.

IW is okay, but I will only ride it if it is a walk on. It is at the bottom of the list of my favorites.

I love Iron Wolf. Hardly a long wait, and the roughness is awesome. The second half of the ride is awesome.

Iron Wolf is awesome. The headbanging usually makes it more fun, although I know how to hold my head on it. It's a really neat ride and I love standing up.

I finally got to ride IW for the first time ever earlier this season( What can I say until this year i didn't make it up to Chicago much). I don't see why people complain about it. The sensation of doing a loop standing up is awesome! I also liked how the automated voice on the lift hill reminds you to "remain seated during the ride" kind of hard to do isn't it?
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

Iron Wolf is an awesome ride, I can't complain, it is a great stand-up coaster. I love the ride, I even used my FL one time to ride it, which many people dont like to. Iron Wolf is among the top 5 coasters in the park in my opinion.

I still like Iron Wolf, but not as much as I used to. Although, the last time I rode it in June, it was actually on the verge of being awesome. :D

Iron Wolf is one of my favorite coasters in the park, the only problem is the load times (I think it should have a unload station).

Iron Wolf rules, you can find G-forces like that anywhere in the park other than Superman's pretzal.

Like was said before, the airtime kick you get in the midcourse and the entire 2nd half of that ride completly owns espicially at night. Going through all those trees in the dark is awesome.

By the way, I always go backrow unless front is 1 train.

I'm just so shocked to see not one person hates it here. Don't be shy if you hate it. It's not like anyone will bash you either way (like it or hate it).

Arghhh. I despise the headbanging. You shouldnt have to hold your head a specific way on a B&M. It really shows that this was their first. Also the seats are soooo uncomfortable on my....um.....twigs & berries. After riding Mantis at Cedar Point I learned what a real Stand-Up should be like. Have to be honest though, with the line being a walk on every time I go, I can't really complain about the wait!
Unless you pass out from lack of oxygen, the first drop isn't tall enough :-)

You don't have to hold your head a certain way, I don't and I think the ride is awesome.

Iron wolf is great. It only bangs your head if you're in the back but same goes for batman.
You see I like the cubs and the white sox. If it came down to the world series I'd pick the cubs.

Yeah I've been in the front row too. Seems weird because I "stood" in 6/7 and it wasn't bad yet 7/7 was worse.

Did you help SFOG out? As some of you know, SFOG has a ride similiar to IW. It's called Georgia Scorcher. The slogan for that ride is "Put Your Feet To The Fire." Could that be anymore appropriate for a stand-up?
