Last time I rode it, they had the brakes on, but barely, because I didn't notice one difference from my earlier experiences on it. I'm not gonna be happy when it's toned down, I liked it the way it was. Even though it hurt, the 'violence' was fun.

The trim brakes don't ruin the ride experience. It is as rough and fun as ever. I wouldn't complain about the trims. We spun just as fast and I almost knocked my friend out because we were thrown around. Good times, good times.
i liked it rough, I rode it yesterday and they had so many of the brakes on my car didnt even spin as fast as it use to... hopefully, maybe some days they'll take the brakes off and let it go to its original roughness!

I don't understand why RC is so rough when I've been on other models that are really old and they don't hurt at all. Those brakes really take a lot of the fun spinning away. It's a shame it's so rough.
They toned it down because of mechanical reasons. It kept breaking down, if you all have been there before the brakes, so they toned it down to keep it from having mechanical problems. It breaks down less with the brakes stopping it. Don't expect it to switch back to no brakes anytime soon.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Before they started using the brakes, I only saw it break down once while in line for it the first 4 times I rode it... And after they started using them, it broke down three times while I was in line for it last time I was there. The cars kept getting stuck on the brakes. A mechanic had to push one of the cars to get it going again. But I don't see them switching back any time soon.
I went on the other day and the brakes were on. It was still fun, but at the very end I could still tell where I was. The best part of that ride for me was hitting those two bumps at the end when spinning so fast I didn't know when they were coming. I can see why they toned it down. I would always see little kids coming off saying that they were hurt. They shouldn't have marked Ragin' Cajun as a family ride.
It was in 3 car operation. The one(green) with the half car was on the transfer as was the purple one. It was like this all day. Props to operation management for only keeping 2 switchbacks open and letting people wait outside the entrance to make the line shorter for people in it because if they filled all the swtichbacks, it probably would have been an hour and 45 minute line when full.
