How come SUF no double load?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I've just noticed after just watching Ultimate Thrill Fast and Frightening on Travel, that the SUF at Six Flags Georgia has a double load platform. How come our SUF doesn't have one. I was just curious and it would be great if anyone could answer my question. THAX :P

Although it's nice it's no really nessesary, still gets 1100 per hour (with the taped off seats a little less, but bleh).

They realized it would be just as fast with one loading station and that all other flyers that have 2 really don't use both of them so they are pointless.

Wow.. Im suprised ILovtheVu didnt start this topic already.

I dont know why, I do know that SFOG has had quite a few problems associated with it though.

No he was busy talking about those people that might think the ride is slow. I heard him say it, it's definitely a fact - S:UF is not slow. It's not opinion, but rather fact. So he would rather start an opion based topic, not a factual one. This isn't an open ended question . . . ;)

Agreed. Sfog has stated that the dual loading stations do not increase capacity. It would just cost more if SfGam decided to put the dual loading in.(3rd train, larger station, 2nd dropping floor)

in my opinion it has to do with $$$. With another side, you need more workers, and the extra track costs more in the station. I believe that SFOG is faster because of the more workers. The thing that doesn't matter to most of you probably, but the two tracks right before the station kind of remind of Superman's logo at SFOG.

I think that Vu needs a dual loading platform like Mr. freezes... Where there are two tracks inside one building then it is pushed/pulled into place ... http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery ... ?Picture=5

They can't get the ride to run with 1 train let alone 2. Plus it would cost a lot more money to change the station and add a second train. The park has already invested so much money into the ride that they just can't add anything else to it.

Im not saying that we should switch ours.. im saying that if any are built in the future they should use that idea because loading is what takes the longest on that ride. If the ride is loaded by the time the track is cleared it would cut the wait in half....

It would never worki on a Inverted Boomerang (giant or normal) because the catch car needs to be permanently affixed to the station.

Yes exactly Timmy. I don't think we should try to let Vekoma do another double loading station. The one on X-Flight hardly ever works on both sides and the track flipping and what not . . . on any Vekoma, it's going to have problems.

Take an already problematic ride, and add potential for many more problems to it...yeah that wouldn't work out. But, it is a really good idea I must say. Seeing as how the loading takes so long.

When I was at SFA, Batwing (Vekoma) was only using one station and broke down twice.
