They build the Giga and it will be overhyped lmao
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
Looks like I wasn’t the only one saying X Flight is rough lol. Made Airtime Thrills latest video of worst B+M’s as voted on his YT channel. Start at 4:58:

i haven't done X-Flight this year but i hate those vests so much because i felt that i could barely breathe. Outside of that the ride is ok (i liked the speedway more tbh)

It’s ok if you don’t understand. You don’t have to understand anyone else’s opinion. Me personally I rode Iron Wolf opening year and a bunch of the years thereafter. I cannot speak for Airtime Thrills though lol.
I like Airtime Thrills as a channel, but I never hold too much weight to his "as voted by you" videos. Sometimes all it takes is 3 votes to place top 10 in whatever the video is ranking. Sample size is too small. Vote Coasters run by Coaster Bot is what I consider to be the most reputable coaster rankings and X-Flight placed 82nd out of 106 B&M's in 2024.
But X-Flight is totally polarizing, many people swear it off because of the locking restraints. Hopefully one day they switch to the traditional vests, it is proven possible as Swarm made the switch recently. There are definitely moments where the train jostles around a bit, particularly the last helix, but I would not say the overall ride is rough.

In his video he said it can run rough and he understands why there are haters out there. He had a different reaction to the votes Raging Bull got. It’s not obscene to have an opinion of X Flight as being rough. And the reason I even posted this is pointing out that I’m not alone in this point of view.

I’ve ridden Gatekeeper and Wild Eagle and neither of those gave me the same feeling walking off. So if there’s a chance new restraints would improve the ride experience, hey I’m all for it.

I don't mind the vests unless the ride op staples you. Once, the ride op didn't staple me and that was probably the best ride on any wing coaster I've gotten. My main problem with the restraints is how they don't untighten after the helix, so it sucks when you're sitting there on the break run and the restraints are locked in tightly.
As for X-Flight's roughness, I only noticed it in the back two rows. Anywhere else, from the front to the middle, is fine for me.
I've been on Gatekeeper, Wild Eagle and Thunderbird.
X-Flight is STILL my favorite wing coaster and my OVERALL favorite coaster (out of 209 I've been on).
I'm obsessed with the ride!
I do recognize the vest tightening issue though. But that's nothing compared to the suffocating feeling of the restraints on Sky Striker! I really would have rather gotten a Screaming Swing (only a lapbar)

I had a better ride on sky striker than Joker at fiesta thought i think it comes down to me leaning a bit to not try to loses my glasses, while on sky triker i put my glasses away and rode more comfortably

Totally agree. I was expecting a whole lot of airtime when I first rode SS because that's what they were advertising, but I was disappointed. You only receive a tiny bit of airtime when you reach the climax, but the restraints greatly reduce the amount of airtime you receive. After riding Skyhawk at CP, I definitely would've preferred a Screamin' Swing over a giant pendulum.
Speaking of restraints reducing airtime, I hope Demon gets lap bars because the over-the-shoulder restraints are unnecessary and make that nice pop of airtime you can get on the first drop more painful for your shoulders.

I don't think so, but I'm sure Premier could pull something together.

I can’t be the only one, sky striker makes me super nauseous
GreatAmericanfox wrote:Also, I love Giant Drop's theming
Giant Drop has excellent theming, but they need to bring back the sound effects on the ride itself! Hearing that swirling wind and eagle cry near the top was amazing!
And the Coyote slippers... IYKYK.
And if Demon goes, then Bucky McMacho will be upset. Marriott's worldbuilding was better than Six Flags.
Sunkid makes quite nice lapbar trains for Arrow/Vekoma. Even at €7 a ride, I still spring for rerides on the Boomerang at Weiner Prater. Lapbars look uncomfortable, but they're really not.

I'd be all for Sunkid adding lap bars to Demon. To be fair though, I'd even be alright with Superman restraints on Demon, I just need a lap bar. Having Sunkid do the work would be especially great if it was the start of a new relationship between SF and Sunkid. One of the things I'm hoping for most for the park would be to have a Rocking Tower replace Hometown Fun Machine, or just be placed somewhere in the park.

Judging by the photos, it looks more of a County Fair thing, Maybe Orleans place if they can make it voodoo themed.
