Honestly, Id love to see AE stay a wooden on the red side & become a hybrid on the blue side so it's truly two unique coasters. One classic one modern side. Sounds like a lot to do though.

Iron Eagle: Soaring to New Heights! B&M Giga with red/white/blue theme to replace American Eagle (NOT Confirmed YET)

And yes I understand the sentimental value of Eagle. I remember them building it when I was a kid! But it's time has come to be sunset.

Nah, keep the classics around
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

Park has gotten 43+ years out of Eagle. Shockwave came down after 14 years. Tidal Wave lasted 13 years. Iron Wolf lasted 21 years and that was the very first B&M.

I sort of understand the sentimental attachment to Eagle (I was a kid when it was built) but on the other hand it looks awful in its present state. And its popularity has massively diminished.

Lastly, people aren't flocking here from other states to ride it. It's not a "Draw" ride. Why have a racing coaster that can't race? And why dump a ton of $$ into a ride that is not even popular?

GreatAmericanFox - Help me understand your attachment to "Old" Great America that you never actually visited or experienced?

I think alot of the rides from back in the day looked cooler for me, i don't hate most of the new stuff, but the old stuff is timeless for me, plus i appreciate that Marriott put a little more effort when it came to thematic cohesion like with tidal wave, which wasn't really carried over once Six Flags took over until Southwest Territory.

As for Eagle itself, it's unique for a wooden coaster and its iconic to the locals, Shockwave was pretty problematic so it makes sense why it was removed, there were also better B&M standups so i get why Iron Wolf's gone too. I also kinda get why Tidal Wave is gone, but the extra theming from the Marriott era is missed for me, if it was generic I'd probably care less

I don't think Cedar Fair will demolish the American Eagle. However, I think they will give it a Steel Vengeance treatment. As much as I want it to remain a wooden coaster, the numbers don't lie. Steel Vengeance was a smash hit with the General Public and is regarded by many as the best roller coaster in the world.

I could definitely see them duplicating that success with American Eagle.

That may be true, but there's a reason CF has stopped with the RMC retracks over the past few years. Over my two day trip to Cedar Point, SteVe broke down three times that I know of. On the other hand, I was able to get three rides on it with a maximum of a 45-minute wait combined thanks to those malfunctions.

If these routine malfunctions didn't exist though, then I could definitely see SF doing this, and I would be all for it. I really hope SF does this.

Pretty cool that the corporate account shared Raging Bull’s ridership stats!

Did they do anything special for 1 million riders this season? I know in years past I've seen some kind of banner saying "the 1,000,000 rider could be YOU today!" or something along those lines.

RB crew killed it this year. And we got the third train running earlier than last season (by at least a month?).

I'd love to see Superman's numbers this season compared to historical numbers. They were pretty darn good this season.

I didn’t hear anything about recognizing 1 million riders on RB unfortunately.

And I agree 100% about Superman. Best ops I’ve ever seen on that ride. I got 4 rides in a row on June 26 in the back row. Every time my train pulled in, the station was empty minus the first couple rows. So i didn’t have to leave my seat.

Those guys were killing it!

I avoid Superman at all cost because it's not my type of ride, but the line did seem pretty short throughout the year.

What if they hired Gravity Group/GCI to keep the layout but merge the ride into 1 long coaster? And increase banking on the helix and steepen the first drop? Maybe add a tunnel on the bottom of the first drop?

I am against the Mobius loop idea, it just kills the pace for me.

Agreed. I would rather keep it a separate racing coaster instead of one long coaster. It would be strange having RMC Eagle and Goliath in the same park. But technically, Goliath is a wooden coaster because it uses topper track and RMC Eagle would almost certainly be IBOX track. So they would be different

SFGAm had two wild mice a couple hundred feet apart from each other. Even added them 4 years apart. GP would not care about topper track and ibox being too similar

I had a couple of these instances as well, except more so because row 8 had 2 seats unavailable, and each time I came in the station it was a group of 4 people who did not want to split

Found this out from Panic At The Dispatch on Instagram…the park filed new permits for coaster foundations and it’s located in Revolution’s former location.
Thoughts?

My thoughts are I will get confirmation on this this coming week…so stay tuned.
Revolutions spot doesn’t make sense. The mid way would be too packed.

Unless someone has a link to Gurnee's permit map, which I cannot find, I call pure rumor on this.

Could be foundations for anything. Like another pole.

This permit has been on that map for months. It is the Wrath of Rakshasa foundation permit and is mislabeled with Revolution in the title.

Theoretically, I don't think a coaster in Revolution's plot makes no sense. I could see it being a family coaster with an expansion and refresh of kidzopolis as we know some kind of kids area refresh or a new one is coming in 2026
