Yes, the building in Mardi Gras is where you go. However, the rides *should* carry the bands. We've gone on a few coasters where my kid will get measured (she was just over 48" last year) and they will just give her a heigh band on the ride. I've found that the building in Mardi Gras will sometimes have a line, especially with the ADA riders. However, they are changing their policies for that this year. Not sure if that will make the lines better or worse.
Thanks for the reply. He's about 48-1/2", so I wanted to get the band so they don't question it at those rides. He's pumped about going on Goliath, Eagle, Viper, and Giant Drop this time.
No offense to the ADA riders at all, but they really need to staff separate lines at that office, as they always have multiple staff members working there, but the height check people have to stand in the same line as those seeking the ADA passes, and it is very slow at times to get height checked because of the paperwork that has to be filled out for the ADA passes. It would be an easy fix if one of the staff would just be assigned to height check and they had two lines. Common sense does not rule the day at times for park operations, it seems.
Or do it like they do at Kings Island, where the height check is out in the open at the front of the park and almost everyone walks right by it. Very fast and not a hike to get to.
Giving the bands to staff on the rides like they do at times is a good semi-solution.
The wristbands don't guarantee a ride, as a single op can be held responsible for allowing an unqualified person on. So they might check the height in the station as well to make sure.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
My apologies. When reviewing the NTG Incident articles, it does state the employee violated the park's "In-Doubt " Policy. I guess I assumed the chain would have similar measures. I guess not.

Much more convenient location, but lines could sometimes get bad in there too since we are mixed with people seeking different kinds of help. Not too bad normally though, as long as we hit it early.
It seemed like a the beginning of the season that they double-check more...extra cautious A few years ago my daughter was just over 48" by a 1/4" when she got measured at guest relations at 48", but when she went on Giant Drop the ride op had the harnesses re-opened and they remeasured her and they said she was not tall enough. By Giant Drop and the swings the pavement is not level in front of the ruler, but they still would not let her ride. Hopefully you do not have an issue, but it can and does happen. The park also does not know if someone has their kid wear high rubber-souled shoes and then change to flip flop later in the day...that can make a difference when they are just over the line. Also keep in mind that the water park is a different wrist strap and they always measure height without any shoes/footwear.
I already warned my son that there's a chance he might not get to ride depending on how they measure him. We'll just hope for the best and put him in his sneakers with the thick sole...lol
