I used to like them but 93.9 plays the same Xmas songs, I do all the cooking cleaning shopping decorating wrapping its just too much for one person. Plus I never know what I want. Big and fancy items are strictly off the list, usually small to medium things again nothing great, the kinds of things you look at and wonder why you asked for that. Sad and pathetic really. No family to share it with except for the ones I live with, rest of family are 2 faced weasels liars and fools. My " friends" are no better no invites no nothing, we got 2 cards this year and I wasn't even mentioned in one.
While mine weren't quite that way, I understand the tone of your post in that getting older isn't as good as we thought it would be. In my world, everything has just kind of homogenized itself into the same day, like Groundhog Day, and I can only tell there's a difference because the weather changes.
As far as the thread, it's been several weeks since I even came by here to read anything. Those of us who have been here a long time are logically old and in phases of our lives where there is more important stuff. I signed up here when I was 18, and trying to distract myself from homework in college. I'm now 25 and have been in a career job for over 3 years. Riding coasters is still a hobby for me, but trying to know every little detail about everything is no longer important. There comes a time when you realize you aren't an insider, and you're only a week away from finding out like everyone else (except for the few here that do work for parks and won't say anything for realistic fear of losing their job). Notice that most of the "leaked" secrets seem to happen only a few days before the actual press release. I still like to travel to ride different rides and new coasters, but I have other hobbies as well and not so fun but important stuff to take care of. Many of us just don't have the time we used to.
