I'm doing some research. and i was wondering is anyone knew where i could find some pictures of the old parade at GAm. I rembember a few things. but not very much. I've found tons of pics of the new parade. But not the old one.
Another question: What ever happened to the old floats. it seems like such a waste to just throw them away.
I'm pretty sure they are the same floats that have been used for years and years now, when it gets old and tired I think they just trash the decorative part and build a new design on the old float frame/body.

Then, when we got the new floats, it was the "celebrate the joy parade" Then the Jumpin' Jammin' Jubillee. Then it was dancin' in the steets, and now, for the last year, and this year, we're back to jumpin' Jammin' Jubilee.
Parker: they only did that with one. The bugs bunny float with the flag. That used to be yellow and red and had a big crown in the center. But the others are completly different.
*Still waiting for pics! I hope there are some out there.

Nio, I meant they completely get rid of everything exept the railroad wheels and metal frame of the car, once they get done with the old float, it's a pile of pieces in a dumpster with just basically a flat empty railroad car waiting to have a new float built on top of it.
I'd bet the railroad chassis for the floats are original from 1976(or whatever year they started the parade).
It's not like they can just go out and buy a float for a 36" guage railroad track that is specific to pretty much one park in the world that just happens to have railroad tracks running down the center of the midway.
