X-flight and flash pass

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I would go straight to X Flight. In my experience, I can do a full lap around the park before anything gets lines, and Flash Pass still doesn't have a bad line. The few times I have gotten Flash Pass, I always get Gold. I figure, if I'm going to spend $45 on it, may as well just spend the extra $20 and do it right.

^^X-Flight is a ride in which even if you get there 10 minutes after it's open, the line is going to be crowded. Sure, it might be crowded later during the day, but I think you would only save maybe 15 minutes if you get there right away. You can't expect a walk-on / 5 minute line if you are 10 minutes late to the ride. Still, I think the Flash Pass can wait. I think you are probably better off going twice on X-Flight before you get the Flash Pass, and than don't go back to X-Flight till later if you even like the ride.

I think a big reason why it gets so crowded at first is of course it's the new ride, but if you look at that side of the park, people are probably going to Raging Bull, and than X-Flight is around that area. The people that can ride X-Flight usually are going to skip Whizzer, and Demon which are on that side of the park. For the other side of the park, it's mostly about going to Superman. Dark Knight also gets some line. Plus, most people are thinking what ride is going to be the most packed, or what is their favorite. Those would be Superman, Raging Bull, and X-Flight.

Thanks for the very helpful opinions/feedback. Sounds like we'll go to XFlight first. I agree about the $20+ for Gold, but it's much more painful when multiplied by 3 (and I have to pay). :)
