Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Yea, definately at the bottom of the drop near the stairs. You don't feel it as much as you hear it though. I always thought it was just vibration from the anti-roll back dogs, but probably not.

The anti roll backs have nothing to do with the vibrations.

There are anti-roll back dogs, though, if there's a train. HOw else would anti-rollbacks do their job?

It definatly is has the vibrations. You can feel them on any train if you ride in the back.

Well what I was trying to say is that the Anti-Roll back dogs could simply just bounce up and down and rattle around during the course maybe creating some kind of vibration? I know they are spring loaded, but still I don't see how they would not jossle around throughout the course? In pictures of B&M anti-roll back dogs they do look like they weight alot and look bulky. Another note, maybe braking on the main beam of the train rather than on fins could cause stress on a train after awhile?

Wouldnt a heavy antirollback dog make a lot more of a definded 'bang' instead of a vibration?

I know it's a wile back in the thread, but about the new Restraints on Wolf. First off Iron Wolf is a B&M design, it was fabricated by Giovanola and the train comes from either one of INTAMIN's partners or they came from Giovanola. Originally it ran much wider OTSR restraints that gave your head much more room and it felt like a smoother ride because of it, also there were no seatbelts on the ride (ones from the "seat" to the restraint), around 1999-2000 B&M made a disvocery about their trains and what can happen under certain conditions, I wont go into details but they saw an "immediate need" for the seatbelts and they made available kits to add those seatbelts to all their standups, however these kits didnt fit on the old restraints(has a bracket that screws onto the grab bar mounts and B&M OTSR's are way different from the old one) so SFGAm had to change out the OTSR's so they could put the seatbelts on and comply with B&M's safety bulletin.

Also later on in the thread... it is possible(in thoery as the Track guage, length of each car, and articulation ability are identical) to put entirely new trains on Iron Wolf from B&M however they are not cheap, and I wouldnt count on seeing new trains on IW anytime in the near future unless something happens to the current ones.

Also even further along :)

the Anti Rollback Dogs on RB do not move during the ride they are spring loaded and in the valleys of RB where the vibration becomes noticable there are no forces present to move the rollbacks at all, just downward force and they are alreadt as far down as they go. It's actually the wheel carriers bouncing up and down and side to side due to weak or maladjusted springs in the upstop and side wheels, you will notice they peridocially do adjustments and for a few days or so it will run smoother and the further you get from the last adjustment the more noticable the vibrations become. If you watch the wheel carriers you will see quite alot of movement at times :)
