7 May is a rather late Opening Day and thus crowds might be slightly more than dead. But as far as buying a flash pass, believe me it will do you no good.
i too am going on opening day and have gone the last two years. this year i decided to bring my friends along with me and (like you did) planned it about a month or two in advance. from my experence the past two years wait in the lines. the biggest wait will prob be 15-20 min.
SEE YOU OPENING DAY!
Don't fight the Bull, ride the Bull!
Best 2011 Moment: "I lost my phone on Raging Bull!" "WELL I LOST A SOCK!!!" Best 2012 Moment: "No good! DREAM ON!" Best 2013 Moment: "I came here for Auntie Anne's pretzels and coasters......in that order!"
Will there be anyone attending the buyout this weekend? If so, it would be highly appreciatted if someone could post a PTR. I am just dying to see some photos of inside the park becuase of this stupid, long offseason we all had to suffer through. I would love to see some photos of the current state of BBNP and any other noticable changes around the park.

Thanks!
I usually post a PTR of the Advocate Event but I will not be attending this season, so you'll have to wait until Opening Day this time. I remember my 2009 PTR got a lot of views in just a day....

Lol. I really really miss the park dearly, if you want a very small glimpse of the park you can view the construction of riptide bay here: http://www.riptidebay.com/webcam.html
I thought I'd help. IDK if you've seen it already. It better be awesome weather opening day and the crowds better be small!!
I will be eagerly waiting this Saturday to get on the first ride for V2, which was denied to me last year on closing day. I will give you guys an update of my day this Saturday at Six Flags Great America.
I don't think an "update" is really necessary, We already had people posting saying they seen V2 running the past weeks....I think it's a safe bet it will be open normally May 7th/8th.

Wasn't V2 closed the last 2 weeks of Frightfest last year?? I too was denied a final ride last year because of it being broken down. I went to frightfest the day before Halloween last year and had intentions of riding it one last time for the 2010 season. I was thinking to myself at the park, "Ok. Our final ride on V2 for the season!" Then my group and I were walking from afar and didn't see it operating. We thought, "They're just probably loading people or something is taking a while for it to start or hopefully it didn't breakdown in the middle of operation or something." Then by the time we got to it we were like, "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" We were a little disappointed that we couldn't get our final ride of the 2010 season that day. Well, opening day will make up for it. I'm still debating whether Raging Bull or V2 will get my first ride of the 2011 season.....hmmm....tough decision indeed....
Superman will be first for me this season and has been the past couple of opening days to kick of the season. Believe me or not but on opening day last year I was lucky enough to be beat the running of the bulls last year and got to superman FIRST!!! First Row, Far left seat, First official dispatch for the 2010 season!!! I guess all the exercise I did last spring paid off.
Nothing like a great pretzal loop to kick off the coaster season!!!

I'd like to RUN to the ride but doesn't the park stress that no running is allowed. I remember last year opening day we were waiting next to Colombia Carousel and they had tape on both sides of the carousel preventing anyone to get past it and once they cut the tape the employees were like, "No running! Slow down!" I am hoping I can run to my first ride of choice opening day.
Historically speaking, opening day crowds are weather dependent. When it's nice out it is very busy, when it's cold or rainy it is not.
This year I would expect the park to be very busy opening day. Not only is it later than normal, but think of how crowded it gets for the SP holder bring a friend for half price day promotion days, now think of everyone getting over half price off admission. It's that time of year where people will be checking out the website to see when the park opens, and the first thing they see is this
$20 for a ticket to a huge market like Chicago/Milwaukee, assuming it doesnt rain I would expect to see very heavy crowds.
The forecast currently calls for rain the whole day with a high of 54. However, maybe it won't be too bad as it will keep crowds away. But with the late opening and this $19.81 ticket deal, I'm not too sure. Nevertheless, I'll still be there. Raging Bull front row will be my first ride to kick off the awesome 2011 season. We've been waiting so long! Only two days left!
