Where did they get them from? Their music teachers for playing a woodwind?
Dont you guys read the big as life digital sign off the tollway that keeps flashing: "Welcome Read To Succeed Winners" ?I was at the park this past Monday and Wednesday and my god, it was freakin PACKED!!! They even had the weekend rides open (Hometown Fun Machine and Ice Mountain Splash).
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
The only time I read the sign is when eating lunch in the parking lot. It's weather sensitive. Did you know that? When it starts raining it says to turn on your windsheild wipers and headlights.
Would anyone be mad if instead of them building a new coaster, they rebuilt shock wave further out into the parking lot? I think that would be great. I mean I would love to see another brand new coaster at Great America, but Shock Wave was great. It had loops and it went fast, really can't get much better then that. I hear where people are coming from when they say that Whizzer is a family ride, but come on, who would really have missed it? I have only gone on it 2 times and that was only to say that I had been on all of the coasters in the park. I went on Shock Wave many more times. Not just because the line was "shorter" but because it was one million times better then The Whizzer. There have to be people who agree with me on that.
Even though I would love to see Shockwave be rebuilt. I doubt that its gonna happen. It would be possible if they moved it to a difeferent park, but I don't think it will be rebuilt at SFGAm.
Im with you on them rebuilding ShockWave. If they did rebuild it it would be just like a new coaster. I wouldnt mind them rebuilding it and not getting a new coaster. I dont think S:UF is the least bt worthy of taking ShockWave's spot. They could have put it in front of ShockWave like the way SFGAdv did it. I also would have been fine with nothing being installed. If they got a Flying Dutchman or a clone from Vekoma then that probably would have been worthy. I wish we got onew of those because I heard they were way better than the B&M Flying coasters.
You think Shockwave was more thrilling and you don't like whizzer becuase its not thrilling for YOU doesnt mean the little kid down the block doesn't find it thrilling and might have been to scared to go on shockwave....do you you get the point yet?
No, Dave's brother, they don't get it. They only can think of themselves. They don't understand Shockwave is gone, and probably won't ever be rebuilt anywhere, and obviously will never be rebuilt at Great America. Let the morons have their little fantasies so they can get off on them.
People who want to rip out Whizzer will never realize what a great family ride it is until they have children of their own. When it comes to this subject I respect opinions about Shockwave and Whizzer, but I do not agree with most of them. Yes I would love to see Shockwave still at GAM, but it is over and never going to happen. Shockwave WILL be built again at another park. It will be a smaller park and the ride will have a new name, but it will be rebuilt. Six Flags works like that. An old mega looper will be very cool to people who live by a small park and have not experienced a intense coaster. Remember cheap not stupid
Travis I think you should post all of the threads that talk about the Whizzer. That way HailToTheShockWave can just read all the responses intsead of the people here restating their opinions.
Hey I am not really disagreeing with anyone here. I didn't mean to cause a rukus(sp?). I know it will not be rebuilt at great america, but it would be cool if it was. I understand that the Whizzer is a great family ride, but that still upsets me that Shockwave was removed instead of it. I was just trying to get my opinion out there. again sorry for pissing people off. I just really loved that coaster
Yeah....they rebuild rollercoasters all the time after they changed their mind...hell sometimes they just move them ten feet to fit in a new dip and dots stand. If you honestly think they will rebuild shockwave I pity you. Yes it was fast, and it had loops...but nobody ever road it. So why would you rebuild a roller coaster that people didn't ride in the first place? Sounds like a great business practice right?
Its gone get over it, it will never come back to Sfgam so stop crying about it, If you love it so much go ride Viper at Sfmm or go ride the Great American Scream Machine.
Better yet, just ride the Demon.Sure, it may be slower and doesn't have as many inversions, but, it has the same rolling stock, same track, same vertical loops , and same corkscrews. We were the only park in the country (maybe the world), with 2 Arrow loopers. Getting rid of Shockwave didn't put a dent in the collection.
