Oh I forgot about this. Wednesday there was a sign that said something like filming is going on at the park today and they have the right to use any footage inside the park of you and the rides. I don't know how long this sign has been up but is is very visible close to the entrance. Movie filming? TV show?
Ive been filmed on SUF and TDK, I dont know if they used the SUF footage but when they were testing the camera the night before media day for TDK which ended up in the B roll and Associated Press the next morning (and yes we were selling the ride, its not that excieting ). Found it weird they filmed the entire B roll the night before media day so it didnt have any kids riding, you think thats what they would want with that ride.
And that sign is out a ll the time, it could be anything.
First time I noticed it. Why would they put it up though since it is common sense and well-known they tape you inside. Wouldn't you put a sign up for something more worthwhile.
It's probably a requirement to have it up. By reading the sign you consent to being filmed if you go in the park. That way they're covered if someone says they didn't want to be filmed. Of course hardly anyone sees the sign anyway.
One of the other chain parks I visited (Universal Orlando, I think) had a whole bunch of disclaimers on the back of the tickets saying they could film you or take pictures without any compensation, signing a release, blah-blah-blah. Basically it said by puchasing the ticket and entering the park you agree to the terms on the back of the ticket.
That disclaimer is also on your season pass and I would guess a ticket as well. It's a standard disclaimer that is on all tickets for venues like amusement parks and sporting events. They just want to tell you that you have no right to sue them or a film maker if you see yourself in some advertisement or movie clip somewhere.
