They can't build higher than Sky Trek Tower. But im sure if they wanted to they could persuade Gurnee to let them build higher.

The bigger the rides the bigger the crowds and that means more people go to Gurnee. If you don't agree go to rcdb.com and look at Cedar Point. It would be a win-win situation.

Whats on the books and what would actually happen are two different things in the world of Gurnee, Il.SFGAm can build any structure up to 125ft without prior approval. Over 125ft and they have to go before the zoning board for approval on the structure. Gurnee always gives the go ahead for the park to construct.I keep hearing this about the park absolutely not being able to construct anything taller than Sky Trek Tower but I have never seen proof of that.Like Dave said, if they wanted to construct something really tall, like say 421ft (1ft taller than TTD) , they probably would get the go ahead to do so.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Mr. Wildenberg stated that he would like to clarify that a height limit was established for the park when it was built. This height limit is 310 feet; the height of the Sky Trek Tower.http://www.gurnee.il.us/zoning_board/zba_minutes/10-25-00.htmlthat should clear things up for you guys, alot. The original height limit was 110 feet, the height of sfgams highest ride when it was built, sky whirl, since that things have changed, to hard to explain just click on that link and read it your self

O.K. Now we have proof. But guess what? Those laws can change as well. As stated by one of the board members, the height of the ride doesnt really coincide with the screams of the riders in which that is what most of the complaints are from the neighbors. It looks like in the future, the park will have to focus on taller rides being as far away from residential property as possible. HEIGHT ISNT A FACTOR!!!!!!

When i read that all i thought about is all those topics that we had about six flags tearin up the parking lot and etc kinda would never happen, there would be to much noise because we would get so much closer to the residential areas
