Unlocking the Multi-Dimension Coaster in RCT3

Howdy! So, I recently bought RCT3: Complete Edition for Switch and I want to build a gigantic Multi-Dimension Coaster to be the star attraction in my Vanilla Hills scenario park. I have heard that you unlock it by completing every scenario in the main game, but I thought you had to invest in R&D to unlock it for the scenario you are playing in. If somebody could clear up how you unlock the Multi-Dimension Coaster, I would greatly appreciate it!
