okay, if you know the manufacturer of your video card ( ie ATI or nVidia ). if you don't know, right click on your desktop and choose properties. then go to the Settings tab. under the pic of the monitor and desktop, it should read Display: [your monitor] on [your video card]. again, go to that manufacturer's site.

on ATI's site:
click on Drivers & Software at the top, choose your OS, and then your video card type and model. use the info from your Display Properties window.

on nVidia's site:
choose Download Drivers from the top, choose your video card type and model, and then your OS. again, use the info from your Display Properties window to choose your card type and model.

it'll take you to another page where you can download the drivers. just save it to your desktop or whatever you like. open the file and follow the install process. during the install, you might get a message saying that Windows does not recommend that you install this because it hasn't passed a test or something like that. ignore it and continue. you'll probably have to restart when you're done.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

The same thing happened to me, and I updated my driver, it still didn't work. So I tried it on my laptop, and it did run, but had errors. I think that the software is messed up.

^^ Are you sure that you actually checked the requirements BEFORE buying the software? Because I don't care how new your computer is, if it's a crappy mid- to bottom-of-the-line Dell, or something like that, the graphics card will not, I repeat, WILL NOT handle this game. Also, if there is a demo availiable for a game, you should always try that first, just to be safe... if it doesn't work, there is no way the full game's gonna work.

Some people may think.... "Wow, those hardware requirements are ridiculous... I can't play it on my old computer... why can't they make it compatible"?" Simple reason for all the new hardware needed: 3D... what makes the new game so desirable is also what makes it so system intensive. You need to push the limits of hardware to push the limits of software.

If however, you system does exceed all the requirements listed on the box (IMPORTANT: Not just meet, but exceed, you may have a valid arguement to take up with the software company... I would give it a go in that case.

Danhockey and I's computer meets the video card but exceeds in everything else. BTW rhe computer aint a Dell, cause dell's suck. Don't be calling my computer a piece of crap it plays the Sims2 which had higher requirements than RCT3, so i think the problem lies in the software.

The game also does not work on the laptop, which excedes all the requirements, and still has errors. Maybe because I got the game 1 week before it came out, but it really shouldn't matter because it is the same game that they were going to put on the shelves.

AKA Either you stole it, or warez (illeagly downloaded) because as far as I know there was no presale. And the game works perfect (well, the demo and since the main game is the same engine, etc..) on my laptop (dell i9100).

And just so you all know, the game WILL run on Nvedia (I think Kyle, Dave, and Mike can all back that up) but you need to have the latest drivers. As was said many times before you can get the drivers from your respective manufacturer. I have links below.

ATI
Select your Operating System, then select graphic driver then most likely you have Radeon or Rage 128 card.

NVidia
Do the same for the ATI drivers only select your gforce card instead.

If your unsure of your videocard manufacturer go to your start menue and go to run. Then type in 'DXDIAG' (without the 's). If a box pops up about connecting to the internet you can hit no. Then once it loads hit the top tab and go to Display. In the top left box it should say your graphics card manufacturer and what kind of card you have.

Oh also make sure you have Direct X 9.0c. You can get that from Microsoft's Site

Yeah, runs fine on Nvidia here.

Key is your card has to have Hardware T&L ( If you don't know what it is I'll let you know if you have it when you post what Jason said about the DxDiag )

^ The first patch is already out in beta, final version of patch one will be out next week... and believe me, it's a great update that fixed many of the issues people have had with the game.

aero, a lot of people got the game early. many stores put the game out on their shelves before the release date.

didn't the FAQ for the patch say that you don't want to update your nVidia drivers? I believe it said that nVidia's older drivers were the ones that worked with the game. maybe I'm wrong.
