Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby [jonrev] on October 5th, 2008, 11:40 pm
Was at a car show in Winthrop Harbor from early in the morning until about 2 when the rain moved in. Since it was on the way back I decided to see what Six Flags has in store for this year's Fright Fest...

Boo rain...
Image

Think they upped the fog levels this year?
Image

Area 51 is slapped off to the side in the old Plymouth Place this year. While the Shuttle stuff helps alot with theming, it now leaves Hometown Square and County Fair pretty lame this year, with the exception of the trolls on the CF/HTS Bridge.
Image

Hometown Square pretty much has traditional fall-seasonal decorations up
Image

DejaVu is now a Splash Battle. Get over it.
Image

Arrg... we take yer coaster and sold it to them Idaho pirates so we get yer land...
Image

Demon looking great as normal
Image

"Rock over London, Rock on Chicago! Heintz - It's America's Favorite Ketchup!"
Image

Giant Drop was a ghost town all day
Image
Image

He was walking around the gravel area just outside the fenced figure-eight near the end, isn't that a danger zone?
Image

Raging Bull was flying in the back row today
Image

The lines were moving slower than normal, I wish they'd budget the park enough to run 3-trains as much as possible.
Image

Steve (brother) likes Raging Bull... maybe alittle too much?
Image

Nice...
Image

Do not eat a live fetus...
Image

We hit Terror Twister and Steve made out with a wall thing
Image

In Viper's station...
"I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine. And he will be my Squishy"
Image

Rode Viper but didn't shoot any pics. Last row, fun as usual.

Everybody laugh at the rice car with the Wal-Mart hood scoops glued on the hood:
Image

Then this guy's car got attacked by corn...
Image

Ah s#*t!!
Image

Won't spoil things about this, but I will say GO RIDE IT. NOW
Image

Whirligig is always fun:
Image
Image

Revolution doesn't suck anymore!
Image

Revz during Fright Fest is a total sleeper. I went on it because of the fog but didn't expect the new ride cycle.
Image

Ok, remember this photo from closing night 2006? Well I shot it again and got it even better:
Image
If anyone wants a copy of it for a desktop I will provide the full version at either SFGAmZone or the SFGAmWiki.

Eagle gets renamed this Fright Fest
Image

Rode car 1 row 3 but got "jackhammered" real bad on the first set of hills
Image

Iron Wolf/Predator. Moving on...
Image

Is it Whizzer or is it Video Game the Ride? That ad is huge!
Image

Somewhere in that fog patch is Columbia
Image

THE EDN

Crowds weren't too nasty today thanks to the rain.

Plus's to:
Clowns in Mardi Gras were great this year
King Chaos. Go ride it. Simple as that.
Revolution's Fright Fest theme
Terror Twister's strobe is now synched again with the music
Tinsel Town scaracters were great this year
Something being done with the Shuttle building

Minus's to:
Trolls need to do more than just wander around and scream at people. What happened to the chalk they had years ago? Or when they found an Exit sign and smashed it up
Leaving Hometown Square and County Fair barely themed
Way too much fog at Columbia pond. Cool, but a big photo-ruiner

He was walking around the gravel area just outside the fenced figure-eight near the end, isn't that a danger zone?

No, the inside of the fence that borderds the final frenzy is a danger zone. Walking in the area that guy is in leads to a small path on the outside of the queue that leads around to the bottom of the drop where the break area is.

Im surprised they made King Chaos more intense for FF. That thing had enough issues with a lame program, id be scared to be around it with a different one :).

Bull probably started with 2 trains cause it cant run 3 in the rain, then with attendance in mind decided not to add the 3rd. From your pics it looks like 3 car op so I would assume it wasnt very crowded.

And wow your brother looks a lot like you.

King Chaos looks freaking nuts! Love it! Can anyone take a pic of the spider I think his name is Tiny on Eagle? I'll be there the weekend of October 25th-26th.

Nice Photos. It was really a great day except for the bad weather water bottles $5.99 special now 2009 passes $69.99 plus tax, they were actually allowing rerides, most rides were a walkon except for bull, most of the coasters closed down when it rained but opened backed up. Eagle had problems. Superman was closed all day. Yep they didnt skip on fog this year. Dead Mans Party rock as always get there early because seats always fills up, Laff is on this year 2. Fun Sunday for everyone who was there not that busy. Thanks for the pics.

Have yet to get my TR up, I will try sometime later. But yeah, King Chaos was amazing! I did not expect the ride cycle to be different!! I was like, what the heck is going on?! It was amazing. It was weird because we were walking onto it, but then they told us we had to get back in line... we had no idea anyone was in the back row because they were filling up the front... And I paid no attention to the ride cycle while we waited. I saw an employee I knew and said hey, and he told me about Rev's cycle being different... but didn't tell me about King Chaos! Lol. And I was a little upset they were filling up the back row first, but oh well. I cannot wait to go back!! FF is AMAZING this year!

Yes. I did hear Friday Night that it ran like that in 2004 for a short period. I only went once in 04 (no season pass until 2005) and by then it was running the usual program.
