One of my favorite things about SFNE last time I visited was the awesomely themed admissions area and entrance plaza along with the sweet colonial music. Unfortunately since then SF had done a number on this and draped banners all over the place and replaced the really well themed soundtrack with played pop music

The good thing is the operations were way faster than in the past, none of the rides were really stacking (whereas in 05 every coaster stacked for at least 5 minutes) plus they added two extremely nice kids areas with Wiggles World and Thomas Town....and of course it still has that whole one of the best steel coasters in the world thing. Onto the pics.

Driving into SFNE you are greeted by Six Flags Mexico's new for 2009 coaster The Dark Knight!

SFNE's parking lot is very far away from the park, you cant even see the park until after the tram ride and walking to the top of the bridge.

Or if you dont want to take a tram you can walk to the park and read all these awesome advertisements.

The bridge that leads to the park.

Believe it or not theres a theme park in the town of Agawam, the only place you can really see it is from this bridge and the road next to Cyclone.

Even though changing the music sucked a lot of life out of this entrance plaza its still pretty nicely themed and this whole area (including inside the park entrance area) has brick midway.

It seems a lot of parks have made the switch to the new, dont have to reserve your ride at the ride, qbots.

A few months earlier this was the site of a huge building frame for the new coaster.
In case youve been living under a rock, SFNE announced TDK last fall and over the winter had a lot of it built until the village of Agawam ordered construction to stop stating SF failed to submit proper permits. SF and the city already had previous disagreements, mainly about parking situations, and after a long battle SF finally killed the project and took the entire building frame down.
So new for 2009 in that spot is the NFL Gridiron Challenge!

The second half of SROS is one of the most intense stretch-runs of any coaster anywhere. Crushing positive g's, ejector air, mist filled tunnell, pretty much anything you could ever want in a hyper coaster.

Is this thing ever open?

The "Hall of Justice" meet & greet building.

These things are awesome.

This is by far the best 3 of the ones ive been on (Geauga Lake, SFGAdv). Has very good landscaping.

This one does 2 cycles unlike GAdv which does 1.

Its amazing that a ride 100 feet shorter than Millennium Force kicks the living crap out of it, burns it down, and pisses on the ashes! Seriosley SROS is amazing.

SFNE had 2 of the nicest kids areas ive seen, Wiggles World was huge.

Its the Yummy Yummy Cafe, wanna fight about it?

Yes they offer a "Family Flash Pass" on their kids/family rides, rides of course that probably never have lines

One last look at SROS before moving onto other coasters.
