7/14/08 SFGAM -- CROWDS

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby cowboy1192 on July 15th, 2008, 10:22 am
Ok, so I arrived at the park at about 11:20, and me and my brother split off away from my mom and little brother. We went on Bull first (Teal). About a 15 minute wait... Wow, I have been waiting to ride this ever since the last time I rode it (05) sooooo bad... Great ride, the trim brakes killed it a bit, but still awesome. The paint looks sweet too! After Bull we went over to AE and got on red with about a 15 minute wait. I had only been on this ride once before when I was a kid and I do not remember it being this awesome! Has anyone else noticed how ridiculously long this queue is?!?! W.e, anyways, after AE me and my brother met up with his old friend and his dad. We first went on Vertical Velocity, WOW, that ride is great. I dont see how it scares some of the people on this site, but it was good. It was about a 25 minute wait. After V2 we hit up on Bull again. It was around a 20 minute wait, but it was soooo worth it, such a great ride. It was kinda pissed off though because my brothers friend chickened out, even though we tried to force him to ride it lol!

After Bull I took my little little brother on Demon for the first time. We got in line but it got stuck on the lift!!! But since that happened the queue emptied so we decided to stay in line. My brother (of course) thought loops and corkscrews were not as scary as he thought theyd be. Lol thats what Ive been trying to tell him!!! So after Demon we ate lunch at that place under bulls drop that used to be a shooting range... Cant remember the name, I think its like the watering hole or something... But anyways, I got cheesefries and a sprite... VERY MEDIOCRE... After lunch the lines were AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Everything had a line god! So after lunch we hit up on S:UF... Terribly long line, but I thought WTH every line is somewhat long. It was about a 1 hour 20 minutes long, but those new flat screens showing the top 6 coasters at SF kept me distracted for about 5 minutes lol. We got front row, and man was it awesome, I dont remember it being so intense. Not nearly as boring as I remember!!! By this time, every frickin ride in the park had a line and it was like 80 degrees so we all rode Yankee Clipper. About an 45 minute wait, not really worth it but w/e... After YC we rode Iron Wolf. IW even had a line that back out of the station, down the stairs, and into the first switchback!!! Ehhh pretty bumpy, but I think people on this site overreact.

So all in all I thought it was a mediocre day it was hot and crowded.

But heres my ride count

Bull-2
AE red-1
Demon-1
V2-1
SUF-1
IW-1
Yankee Clipper-1

Sounds like you had a fairly terrible day. Sorry.

It is mid-July though, whatever day you go there are going to be crowds.

I don't understand how people can wait 1:20 for a ride like SUF. I get not everyone can afford a flash pass but still standing in the blazing sun for such a short ride is ridiculous. I would rather wait longer for a water ride to at least cool off in the end. When will people finally realize SUF is not the best ride at the park? Why is American Eagle the ride with the second shortest wait after Demon? I would rather go on AE than SUF any day of the week. I just think the layout could have been so much better. I would take Tatsu over Superman anyday. Granted, I've never been to MM but still looks better. Yeah, weird that so many people go during the week when it's so hot out and they know the lines are killer in July/August. Don't people work usually during the week? My visit in late June had only about a 30 minute wait for any major ride at most. Glad I didn't wait thanks to my beloved pass.

AE had a shorter wait than demon cause I rode AE around 11:45 and rode Demon around 1:30ish...

And I waited in line for SUF because everyother ride in the park had an extremely long line also... So chill...
