ACE Mt Olympus Celebration! photos coming later

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby tp41190 on June 30th, 2008, 10:34 pm
This weekend was the 3rd annual ACE event at Mt Olympus. I had a great time and it was the most insane ERT session I have ever had!

7:00 We got to the park, signed in and bough raffle tickets for the Hades tunnel walk through. We also got wrist bands for FREE soda all day!

8:00 We just walked around the parking lot and took pictures.

8:30 ERT started. Zues was down so ERT was on Turbo Track, Cyclops, and Hades. We all got a race on Turbo Track then went to Hades. On the way up the lift hill I saw smoke and it smelt like burning grease. We went threw the the smoke then to out surprise the lights were on! We rode Hades 7 times then went over to Cyclops. We rode Cyclops 5 times in the last car then got a 2 more rides on Hades.

The rest of the day was the usual. RIVER OF TROY sucked! It was no theming and was barely faster then a normal lazy river. And the water slides had short lines due to the stormy weather. Then around 3:30 pm a storm hit the Dells. Wind picked up instantly and was blowing everything over. A tree split in half, pool chair went flying, branches covered the walk way, Zues got a couple cracked braces, about 1,000 cigarette butts went flying...it was crazy.

We rode Opa, Pegasus, and Zues when in opened. At 6:30 it was times for the dinner buffet! They had brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, chips, salad, ice cream bars. We also had a little Q & A with the owner of the park...these were some questions. There are not the exact answers but close.

Q: Why did you decide to take out dive to Atlantis?
A: The ride was a nightmare to maintain. There was also an accident involving the track. The side rail of the track broke and the would have caused a log to fall off the track. So to keep it safe and easy it was removed.

Q: Why is the Disk-O closed?
A: The ride was sold to a park in Mexico for a irresistible price.

Q: Why is the Robo Coaster Closed?
A: The ride is old and was also having a lot of mechanical problems. So it will be gone soon.

Q: Why done you have 2 trains on the coasters?
A: The number one goal for the park is safety. We would not want to have a chance of a 2 train collision.

Q: Are you ever going the re-track Hades?
A: I haven't been on the ride for a while, I cant handle it *you would think that would give you a clue  * And the ride will be retracked from the station fly-by the the end of the ride at the end of the year.

Q: Can we ride Little Titans Coaster?
A: Sure...I dont have a problem with it.

Later in the night was the night ERT session. Zues opened just for us at 10:00pm and we rode it for 8 rides in a row. Me and a friend were the only people on the ride in the front seat and yelling at all the people leaving park screaming "HAHA too bad you guys have to go home". Then people were trying to get on the ride but they were told the ride was closed :P The OP also didnt even brake us in the station. We just kept riding right threw. Then we went to Hades and re rode for the last 30 mins. It was insane and my body was trashed.

Hades- 16
Cyclops- 16
Zues-15
Go Carts- 6
Pegasus- 3
Opa-2
[sunday rides]
Avalanche- 35
Meteor- 2

Did anyone ask him why the operator's of the ride are so awful??????? (Actually most of the park staff for that matter)

And did someone explain to him that there are thousands of roller coasters that operate two or more trains and do so in a safe manner without colliding?????

Did he give any hints about 2009 additions? I hope It's Something for the DRY Outdoor Amusement Park!!!

How is river troy. Please Explain in details?

Btw, I think the thing about 2 trains is that they want to be cheap and only send the 4 Wooden Coaster Trains, instead of 5 Trains if Hades has 2 Trains. Anyone who was at NCC 08 this January can say it better.

They have no plans for future coasters.

The only thing he said was that they were going to add more flat ride because now there arent any. The disk-o and robo coaster are gone.

River of Troy was just a regular lazy river with some geysers and a fast current.
