June 24th

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby saylorman47 on June 25th, 2008, 9:32 am
Today was a pretty good day at SFGAm. I went with two of my friends and overall I think we had a good time. Lines were pretty moderate with about and overall wait of 40-60 minutes (excluding TDK of course)

First of the day was Superman. I still love the g forces when you enter the pretzel loop.

Next up was Yankee clipper, and we did not get that wet, which was a bonus

My friends decided that it would be a great idea to ride Iron Wolf, so we went. Is it just me, or does the lift hill go really quickly because it seems that we were up there pretty fast. I still keep my head to one side for the WHOLE ride and didn't get a headache (that cannot be said for both of my friends however)

Next up was Bull with about a 40-45 minute wait for front row. I still love this ride as it seems that the first drop will never end. All three trains were running all day today! :D

OK, so all three of us decided that we would have to ride TDK so that we could at least get our own thoughts about it. That was a bad idea. We waited close to 90 minutes and I felt that the pre show could have been a little thrilling (I know its supposed to be "Family Thrilling, but c'mon) . I don't know if it is me and how I read that TDK is really horrible, but I would have to agree. I barely saw anything at all! I didn't see any of the Batmans and no motorcycle! (Also was there supposed to be fire, because either that effect was not working today or I'm really stupid)I also felt that there was no major plot line for the ride and there were just random laughs and walls with the "hahas" on them. OK enough ranting.

So after that we went on Bull again. but decided to go for the second row and not have to wait another half our. One thing that didd bother me was where you have to wait for all of the flashpass people to pass into the line, as you get stopped by an employee letting them in. So we were the last ones cut off and she let about 15 people in. I could see no one else coming but she insisted on waiting for more people. So after about another 30 people, she finally let us in. I know they paid extra, but she could have just let us through and not make us wait an hour for other people to come. Otherwise, we were in the second row and I was on the far left. So when we start up the hill the guy in front of me decides it would be a good idea to start dropping change my way down the hill. He does this untill we get to the top and then thankfully stops. I wanted to report him but I had lost him on our way out and there wasn't a security guard in sight ::shock::

It was getting late so we decided it was time for V2. We were the last in line when they closed off the line (which must've been at like 9:10 after park closing because I overheard that only V2, Whirligig, and Yankee Clipper were the only ones still operating). I still love V2, but has anyone else noticed the horrid noise when the train comes INTO the station? Maybe I've never heard this before, but it sounded like it needed a little oil. We got last train of the day and left the park around 9:40 (keep in mind the park closed at nine)

Ride Totals--
Bull-2
V2-1
TDK-1
Iron Wolf- 1
S:UF-2
Viper-1

Also, when we pulled into the parking lot I confirmed that Vu had be taken down and they asked me why did they take that down for the stupid dark knight, as they had insisted that TDK was in Vu's spot, but I pointed out the large gray box, but they still thought that that had been there before, until we walked in.)

I've also noticed that the employee by the flash pass points would let a large group of flash pass people through but then would continue to hold the line until another group made their way up to the merge. But I also think they are trying to keep control by grouping at the merge as well, which is something I've noticed a lot more of this year than years past.

Ooooooh....so that's why everytime we tried to hop the fence at the 3 point basketball game to ride TDK and security would come and grab us and insist on taking us to that special ward in the hospital, makes sense now.. :D

Seriously though I thought that was funny that they thought TDK's grey box was always there.

i agree with you about superman, the loop is the most intense one at the park...it almost feels as if your being choked.

the noise from V2 has always been like that or at least every time i have gone this year. It is very loud yes.

i still wonder how the ride ops actually can stand working V2, it would easily be the worst ride to work besides getting to launch people unsuspectingly. The noise level is through the roof, i can barely stand the wait on the platform because of its sheer loudness. (but i guess it still gets to my nerves a bit  )
