Returning June 22/Rescheduled

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby onyxhotel08 on June 16th, 2008, 5:33 pm
My last time was August 12th, 2007. Best part was riding the Vu. Going Sunday with my brother, his fiance, maybe his son, her brother and his girl or my uncle and his fiance. I don't know if I should get a flash pass. I need to ride as many of my faves as possible and the crowds are big this time of the year. I wanna start with SUF, then RB, BTR, V2, YC, RR, IW, AE and preferably pass on Demon, Whizzer and TDK. Yeah, don't know about those passes. I guess it depends on how many of us are really going to end up going. I know Saturday night I will get no sleep. I plan on going by myself through the pace bus service after this and then one more time with my brother. I know starting with Superman is the smartest so that is not going to change. Bull is close so I don't know should I go back to Bull or go towards Batman and Vertical Velocity? Keep in mind I want to avoid long lines on these coasters. Any suggestions?

yeah you should deffinetly go to V2 first because bull is actually kinda far from SUF and V2 and BTR are pretty close...

Weather wasn't a problem today. It was packed however because there was a concert I forgot about.

It was too unpredictable. Tuesday less crowds. Better weather. Supposed to have more rain later on today. Not worth driving 1 hour.

I don't mean to be rude but unpredictable? It showed right on the radar that it was clear just some storms south but those were moving south. If you were looking at Weather.com it said storms thorughout the whole day but if you looked at the radar it was pretty much clear. Few showers but it stopped. It was ok. Busy though so Tuesday is a good pick. Hope you have fun! :D

We got there around 10:45ish due to construction by O'Hare. We got on Superman first and headed to the flash pass processing center. We got a GOLD flash pass for $80 and it was worth every penny. We immediately reserved Raging Bull, Giant Drop, Batman, V2, Iron Wolf, Roaring Rapids and The Dark Knight Coaster. All rides were walk-ons. We did not wait for more than 1- 2 minutes on any ride. Most were quite packed especially near the qeue house. However, on our second Giant Drop the moron did not let us in right away we had to wait in line almost like everyone else! We waited past our time which should NOT happen ever with a gold pass. Overall, the weather was perfect. Cool, sunny and breezy. The park was not packed at all but the only major walk-on was Demon everything else you needed a flash pass. Why doesn't American Eagle have flash passes? why is the line for AE so long? We decided it was not worth the line which started right off the stairs. We decided against Dare Devil Dive this time around. We were overcharged for food but waited till the very end to get our souvenir cups. Awesome day. Beautiful park. I was screaming watching Raging Bull appear as we finally reached the park. Oh, yeah, Dark Knight is awesome for an indoor coaster. Me and my brother loved it. I definitely wanna check it out again someday.

Superman (3) Bird poop as you go up
Raging Bull (2) Love the paint job!
Giant Drop (2) Fast but good
Batman Classic
V2 Ahhhhh!
Iron Wolf Ouch!
Roaring Rapids Cold and Wet
Dark Knight Fun fun fun
Demon Worth the short line
King Chaos small ride big fun

Missed:
AE (racing both sides today)
Viper
Logger's Run (my brother did not want to get wet so he skipped RR too but I went)
Yankee Clipper

Gold flash pass is so worth it. Especially when you are more into thrills than family fun rides. Besides a short stop at Papa John's and a restroom break, we were on coasters from 11-5. We loved splashing people on RR. So worth the 25C. Deja Vu was down all day. I hear it might be closed for the forever. Splashwater Falls was also down. it was weird, both these rides were invisible except for the Deja Vu sin post and SWF lake area. WTF? I saw Space Shuttle America but nobody seemed to be going in. beautiful day. Worth every penny. But the regular coke zero cup for $3.99 is ridiculous even for Six Flags. And the soda machines by Demon and Deja Vu did not work. I heard some kid swear as he exited Dark Knight saying it was not worth waiting 2 hours. yeah, but it is worth waiting 5 minutes with a gold flash pass.

everything was open today

Iron Wolf is in terrible shape I don't think it will last more than a year or two more and it wouldn't bother me. Demon was rough too and my earlobes were hurt on Batman.

The free parking wouldn't matter to me because I have a parking pass. I also think that Iron Wolf is on its last year. I rode it opening day and my ears hurt so bad that it made me not to want to go on it anymore. If they want a new coaster put it in Iron Wolf's spot.

Why is flash pass available on Whizzer but not on American Eagle, Demon, Viper, Yankee Clipper or Ragin Cajun? My brother could not believe Whizzer had flash pass but AE and Viper did not. Why no signs of flash pass entrance on Roaring Rapids? 3-point basketball game is not really even close to where Deja Vu was. That part is quite creepy with broken concrete and the sign post still standing. Why is that still there? Love the new Demon trains or are they just painted? My brother thought they were new. All 3 trains were running on Bull today. The line backed up all the way past the entrance and blocked a good majority of the way towards Giant Drop. This one lady was in charge of not letting anyone in that one door in the Flash Pass Center and people asked her questions but it was obvious she had no idea what to say to them. Dark Knight is quite good for an indoor moose but my brother was right it is not worth waiting for more than a few minutes.

Good pre-show. Love the sharp turns. Ugly gray box needs paint. At least make it black. Pick up those phones by Superman and throw em out. Idiots take phones with them that end up falling out. You don't even notice Deja Vu and SWF missing. Logger's Run and Yankee Clipper need new paint. Most reliable always seem to me to be RB, V2 and Batman.

The souveneir cups that were yellow were out of yellow straws by the churro stand in the front of the park. WTF? $28 for two cups? Make it $20 and its worth it. Rip-off.

Six Flags loves Sean Kingston. I know he is performing soon but I heard Beautiful Girls at least 5 times today.

Need more room for new rides? I would not cry over Iron Wolf, Demon or Whizzer.

Take down the empty Deja Vu post.

Batman needs air conditioning!

You need more ways to get around the park. Splashwater Falls used to give you that bridge to cross over to the other side and now its gone. They should have kept the bridge. I liked it. Sean needs to be fired from Giant Drop! He does not know how the gold flash pass works!

that bridge was only the exit line.... it didn't provide way's around the park (correct me if I'm wrong)

That is correct, it was only an exit from Splashwater Falls.

I wonder why the lines at both Deja Vu :( and SWF were not taken down? The post where the Vu sign was should have been taken down a long time ago!
