It was a beautiful morning. My mom invited her friend along and we arrived at the park around 11. I continued my yellow car Triple Play tradition for our 1st ride of the day. We skipped Whizzer and instead headed straight for Demon for almost a walk-on as usual. After months of convincing, my mom went on it for the first time. She thought the 1st drop was a little scary but after that, she was fine and to my amazement, she was able to avoid headbanging by following my directions. After Demon, we went to Southwest Territory and rode Ricochet. My mom rode that for her first time and liked it. We weren't into going on Viper at the moment so instead, we went over to Eagle. Blue is STILL closed but the line was pretty reasonable. Maybe 30 minutes. Great ride as always. After Eagle, we were a little hot so we decided to go on Logger's Run. Maybe a 20 minute wait but that was understandable for such a hot day. I wisely sat in the back to avoid too much water, just a little. Fun ride. We walked through yankee harbor and into Mardi Gras. My mom and her friend really wanted to ride Ragin' Cajun so since the wait was short, i went too. I forgot how fun Cajun was. 25 Minute wait. (Great for Cajun) Then, my mom's friend forgot Batman was in yankee harbor so we went back. My mom stayed behind but the 2 of us went. I had never been on Batman or any Suspended Looping coaster so i was a little nervous. I did notice, however, how great the theming is in the queue! I was impressed. We chose row 6. Man, I was astonished at how smooth Batman was. The zero G roll kind of startled me as I had never experienced one but everything else was really cool! we went into Orleans Place and decided to wait for TDK. The wait was about an hour long. I know you guys have heard this a thousand times but it could've been a little better. I think it was similar to a cheap spookhouse ride at a carnival but hey...I'd been warned. We went back around and had a late lunch in Farmer's Market. I caught some of the cheesy Reflections show too. lol. I took a quick spin on Demon again...a walk-on (of-course) and we decided to ride Viper. My mom was reluctant but went anyway. Some people just aren't meant for that kind of ride. She's one of those people. Oh well. My mom and her friend wanted to have a beer so i was forced to sit and wait for 20 minutes counting down the minutes until the park closed. We quickly went back and rode Whirligig. Then, we went into Orlean's Place. I really wanted to ride Condor and my last two visits, it was closed. Condor was a walk-on and it was nice to relax and look around at the park below. we decided to try and make Columbia our last ride of the day. We just made it for the last cycle. I rode a cat...lol I felt like some good candy for the ride home so we went over to Trudy's and I got my gummy peaches. Overall, most of the day was nice and hot. We rode a lot of rides and I got to check two coasters off my list.
No raging bull ? After a whole day I would feel like i wasted the day if I didn't hit Bull or V2.
As for Demon being a walk on, you and me both obviously love that its always empty. I can re-ride the hell out of it. I laugh at people who complain it hurts... hurts? I have never once had any pain as long as i keep my head back as they tell you to. Anyways the back of Demon is just to much fun, flying out of the seat and getting sucked into the loop is great.
Sounds like you had a great day, i will be going tomorrow for another high rain chance day hoping for a 20 coaster day!
aw, i dont blame you but i went to the park for the first time in 6 years and just forced myself onto Raging Bull and V2. As a fellow person who feared them recently, they are not that bad.
I cant really determine which one makes me more nervous, but Raging Bull is far more intense in terms of drops and its incredibly sharp turns.
Vertical Velocity seems to be the one coaster you hear people refuse to go on. After a few rides and a ride in the front, its really not bad. The worst part is standing in the station due to very long loading times with one train. Watching that thing zoom by over and over again at a decibel level that will deafen you just leaves most new riders in fear and it works. If you keep your head back and hold onto the handles its really not bad.
The spiral spike is not at all intense (in your stomach) even at the highest point when you are in the front. It is crazy to see how close to the top you get, but where the ride is a bit intense is the back straight spike. For some reason it always gets to my stomach when you get flung up backwards to the straight spike. The 2 second brake where it holds you is not as bad as you would imagine it.
So all in all, i would recommend you just get into line for one of them and do it and you will be glad. Id recommend doing Bull first because once you conquer a drop of that height you will not be bothered by V2 as much. Good luck
dont worry about bull it isnt bad at all! the seats hold you really good and there comfortable and after the first drop which btw looks wayyyyyy scaryer then it actually is you enjoy it and it just good plain fun go on giant drop and you will be ready for bull and V2
