Well i took the advice of you fellow posters and hit the park up alone today. The forecast was for Severe Thunderstorms, but as an optimist and pretty knowledgeable about weather i took the gamble and drove out to the park and hoped for another line free day due to bad weather chances. Buses easily outnumbered cars today. Park was full of groups and i think made up at least 85% of the attendance.
I got there around 12pm, and none of the coasters were operating. It had rain a bit before but every worker said it was because of high winds from atop. The weather really wasn't that bad and supposedly they had been closed since around like 10 Only certain flat rides were running.
Around 1pm, the rides started cycling. I was by Batman: The Ride as it started do test runs, V2 followed and others got under way. I got on one of the few Batman trains today as the ride shut down again early in the afternoon and a worker told me it was done the WHOLE day. So sad
Made my way to Vertical Velocity, did it 3 times today, and the lines always started on the platform!! Never once did it get passed the stairs.
Went to see if i could get on Iron Wolf but that was shut down the whole day, I figured just not enough Ops to work it, a worker told me it was for wind, but then snuck in that they didn't have enough people to work it. My hunch was right. I love riding everything, and i for one actually enjoy the Wolf.
Went over to American Eagle and this time only the Blue train was operating which led to some 15-20 minute lines. People seem to love the Eagle. It was a pretty full platform but for some reason the 2nd row was empty when i got back from my first ride so i tried to stay on. The Op tried to ask other people to just come up to 2nd row but for some odd reason no one jumped at the chance at going early so i got a nice re-ride!
Headed over to Demon, got in the back row based on what ive read from other people about it being more intense and it is much different. That drop has some airtime from the back and the loops are more intense for sure. Went back there in the afternoon and it was SO empty that we did like 3 re-rides.
Went over to Raging Bull and the line never really got past the sidewalk leading up to the stairs, 20 minute waits at the highest. Actually met a cool kid while in line and we hung out the rest of the day. Going alone isn't so bad ! Only two trains running (Teal and Yellow) ... the red train was still on the side being worked on for some reason. Tried back row for Bull again because of comments from others here on the board. The drop is definitely more intense!
Tried Viper in the back for the first time, very fun, lots of airtime...today was the day of hitting the back row for everything.
Went over to Superman and for being in the middle of the day in a park full of kids the line went almost up to the stairs! Did it a couple more times toward the end of the day and it was almost always a walk up! What a great day!
I also tried out V2 from the front for the first time today and that is the way to go no doubt!
Overall another great day! It pays off to just go on a day with storms in the forcast because being so close to the lake alot of storms do die down not to mention scattered means nothing! I am going to miss being spoiled once the nice summer days come along!
Ride Count-
Raging Bull- 4 Demon- 4 V2- 3 American Eagle -3 Superman - 3 Batman - 1 Viper- 1
-------- Total: 19! so spoiled
Have a great day guys, next one will be Tuesday probably!
I was listening to my scanner yesterday, mostly due to the weather, but I happened across one of the frequencies used by SFGA. In the brief time I was listening I heard about a "line down on the west side of skull island." And several rides being; "Ten seven." The rest was just chatter about breaks and assignments. So for any scanner enthusiasts out there, the frequency is: 464.3750 Mhz
I was there yesterday. A few things that happened for the few hours i was there...
-For some reason the little school kiddies felt that they could just jump in line whenever they felt like it? When we got there at around 10:05 waiting for the Bull to open we had atleast 20 kids go directly in front of us. We ended up just leaving the line...
-We then went to TDK and had about 10 people go in front of us in the pre ride movie room and we were the very first people in. This needs to be more organized.
We left at around 1:30. We only rode TDK once today...We got in line for the Bull at like 11:10 and it closed when we were about 2 rides away. We then waited until 12:10 and left the line and then we played games until 1:30. The park was completely empty and I wish we could have gotten more rides in. I just don't understand why people think they can just jump in line whenever they feel like it. This should be fixed and if it ever happens again I won't think twice about telling security, because it is ridiculous.
You should have done that this time! Don't ever let those little brats cut in front of you! That is the park policy and nobody should get away with it! Some people, like me, only go to the park a few times a year and we don't want it to be ruined by rude little shrimps who think they can go in front of you when you are waiting in line. People would never get to ride all the stuff they wanted if they would let others cut in front of them. Especially if it is more than a couple of people. Usually, I think this only happens with the immature under-15 crowd.
Kinda sad, especially since you don't wait that long unless it is a weekend in July/August or a holiday...June 15th. I would never let anyone cut, no matter what age, for 2 reasons:
#1 I don't have the option of going to the park too often and even waiting for one person to go in front of me kills me especially on the these three..RB, V2 and BTR. #2 If you don't like waiting in line go on non-busy days or early/late in the day. Or, go on a coaster that is not as busy as the others...Demon or Iron Wolf or even American Eagle. Seriously, when is the hoopla going to die down on Superman?
Luckily i havent waited more then like 20-30 minutes for it...but I understand the long lines are nuts and its just not worth the long wait.
I love being able to ride and re-ride the demon because its just good fun, along with American Eagle usually being short is pretty good fun. Iron Wolf i enjoy as well, my friends are lame as hell and just give the whole headbanging excuses, yet i never have that problem.

No, I think TDK was delayed because it wasn't thoroughly tested before opening at 10:00 A.M
As for Water Rides....5/31, ALL OF THEM WERE OPEN!
Along with Hurricane Harbor

I'm going to HH tomorrow and it looks like it'll be a beautiful day. At least in the morning and early afternoon. Condor's been closed my last two visits so i hope I can finally get a ride on that.

what makes you think one huge tunnel would be impossible? Goliath (SFMM) and Titan both have 120' long tunnels and i don't think that the midway is even that wide
and if ravine flyer II can cross over an interstate highway, I'm sure a coaster could cross over the midway
