Six Flags St. Louis 5-22-08

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby superflybri on May 22nd, 2008, 6:26 pm
After class I headed to Six Flags St. Louis for a couple of hours, mainly to get a season pass because they are cheaper down here and I'm heading back home (sfgam) tomorrow. Anyways, got to the park at 1:45 today and I was greeted with a couple of buses, barely any cars in the lot.

Anyways, headed up to the window to buy my season pass, got it and walked in. I decided to go take a look at EK progress; it really is coming along very nicely. It is sort of hidden behind the log flume so I could tell but it sort of looks like the track is complete.

Anyways, walked around towards Mr. Freeze, got in line then all of a sudden! BAM! Ride closed due to weather. Ended up leaving the line and made my way towards Ninja. I rode Ninja with a train wait (only one train operation) in the back row. Most people feel head banging on Ninja, I do not feel any head banging.
Anyways, the only part of the whole ride I like is the first drop, man, that drop is just like the Demon at Six Flags Great America.

Anyways, got off the rain was starting to pick up a little. Decided to take a spin on Batman: The Ride! Excellent ride, except, the queue as most of you know is really long. Also, I feel that the queue is backwards. By that I mean I wish it was set up more like sfgam's batman with the road underneath the track.

Anyways, got off and headed towards the Boss. I waited about 15 minutes for the Boss and still had little punk kids trying to get in front of me! Anyways long story short, I cut them off and they starting laughing. Anyways, whatever it didn't matter. So I noticed in this line the ride ops had whistles. Is that something new? He was blowing it every once in a while when he was trying to get peoples attention. He also stopped the ride 3 times because people were spitting on the platform. He then proceeded to make those little brats clean it up. Good for him, it totally deserves them right. Anyways, I got on 2nd row and I don't know there is just something about the Boss that I absolutely hate. It's still really rough for my liking. I really wish that they would get rid of those trains; I seriously think that the ride would be better with some new trains.

Anyways, after my ride I saw that Mr. Freeze was going again, I decided to go hop in line for a quick run. I waited about 10 minutes to get on, with only one side running. Question, when they run only one side, is it always the one on the right? Every time I go and they are only running one side, it's always the right.

Anyways, got off a good ride and decided to catch a ride on Screamin' Eagle. This is by far my favorite ride in the park. It was a good ride indeed. They were also just running one train but it was mere walk on anyways, expect for one of the seats kept on jamming up towards the back. After Screamin' Eagle, I decided to get my pass processed and head out. Left the park at about 4:30. Total time in the park 3 hours.

1-Mr. Freeze
1-Batman
1-Ninja
1-The Boss
1-Screamin' Eagle
1-River King Mine train (forgot to add that in up there) Also, wasn't this coaster dueling at some point?

And yes.. I started every paragraph with anyways... :)

Yes, River King Mine Train dueled at one point but later on one side was taked down. It also use to have standup trains as well. Well, looks like you had somewhat of a good time and I can't wait to visit there for my first time in August and riding EK! :D Thanks for sharing your TR!

Why didn't you ride Tony Hawk's big spin?

Those Guerstler spinning coasters are a must ride.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

^ I rode it before.. I don't know. I was there alone and I feel weird going on 4 persons rides alone. It was just a quick visit moreso I could get my pass.

^If you could have ridden the car yourself, that is the best.

Major spinning with uneven weight distributed.

I am ashamed of you.

:( I'm sorry! I was just really tired because my class is at 8 a.m. and I was up since 6a.m. I don't sleep well at night because I'm the only one in my apartment complex. It's freaky! It is a fun ride though, I do admit that, I should have rode it for your sake. Next time, I promise! Which will be in August. Until then I'll settle for Ragin Cajan.

Evel Knievel looked really good. The tracked seemed like it was all set, although it was hard to see what they were working on due to the log flume was in the way to see what they were actually doing. If I am not mistaken though, the track was completed. Before I saw the coaster, I sort of pictured it a little bit larger then it really was.
