May 21, 2008 - The Dark Knight.

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVuGurl1203 on May 22nd, 2008, 11:10 am
We got to the park at about 9:30, but we stopped at Burger King first. This girl there wanted to use my phone because she left hers at home. We got into the park at 9:50 and were still able to make our way to the chain through the crowd. I was wearing my Batgirl cape and Jason was wearing his Batman cape. When the chain dropped, I ran like hell to TDK. I ended up being behind Joe (rct2wizard360) and his group. But of course as he said, they would not let us stay in a line. I thought it was ridiculous. We ended up going into Heroes to get some things. I got a Batman necklace, The Dark Knight Shirt with Batman on it, a shirt for my boyfriend that says "This is what cool looks like" with Batman on it, and a Dark Knight keychain for him.

Eventually, when they began dragging the guard rails between the entrance and the sign, a "line" started forming. It was annoying how we were the first ones there (and waited there the whole time) but there were these people who just got there and felt they deserved to be first. Well anyway, we ended up being on th 6th or 7th car. This couple was behind us, but when the pre-show was over they went right in front of us. That's one thing I don't like about the preshow, people just rush over to the exit so they can be first. So that couple was in the front seat and we were in the back. The cars are definitely very comfortable. The ride itself is awesome. One of the best parts about it is you really don't see what's next, and then there's a sudden drop. Warning, you will get blinded by the on ride photo!

So after looking at the photo and writing down the number, we went off to BTR. Line was a little long but we waited. When we got to the station, the ride broke down. The floor wasn't coming back up. The breakdown added 10 minutes to our wait, so it was about 40 minutes.

We walked around the park, noticing it was very crowded. We hopped onto Revolution. While exiting, there was puke right there as you got off, but it was partially cleaned up. I had been wondering why we were waiting so long after the ride before us was over. We headed over to Bull, and decided to skip it because the line was long, to the 2nd queue house, and they still had only 2 trains. Viper on the other hand was not a long wait, we only waited 3 trains for 1:3! It was a sweet ride, my lapbar was up pretty high compared to the last few times where I hardly got any airtime.

We went on Orbit after Viper. Then we were contemplating abou riding Whizzer, depending how long the wait is. We figured it'd be pretty long. We approached it and saw no line, so we ran up there and waited 3-4 trains for the back row. The brakes at the end seemed bad again, but I couldn't really tell because my knees were up against the green cushion and that controlled me from having any whiplash.

We headed out to get some Burger King. When we got back in the park it was about 3:55, so we quickly ran over to TDK. We got in the line and most of the people in there did not have those lanyards. After a few minutes, we noticed a ton of people coming into the line and saw none of them with lanyards. I was starting to get pissed off. They started letting people with lanyards through to the flash pass line. With the breakdown, we ended up waiting a half hour to 40 minutes, I thought it was a bit ridiculous. The GP were booing people with the lanyards as they were let in. We got in the front seat this time, and it was good.

We got back in the flash pass line, which was pretty long, but this time there was no breakdown so we only waited about 20 minutes. We got back in the line, and there were less people in the queue, so thankfully they blocked off the line to the GP. The flash pass line was a lot shorter also. That was our 4th ride of the day on TDK. We had time to get one more ride in, so we got back in, and we were the only ones in the line at first (with no GP waiting in line, they got them all out). During the preshow, we didn't care if people got in front of us, in fact, we let everyone in front of us. At the time, we thought we had the last car. When we got in we noticed for the first time two rats in the station, and apparently there's more. Two of the ops I know told us that they named all the rats, lol. I don't remember all of them though. We were the only ones in the car, and we posed for the picture. We ended up buying that on-ride photo after looking at all of the other ones we had during the day. While we were at the photo booth we noticed there were 2 more cars sent with people a little later on.

I think they could have handled the event much better, but I can't really complain because we got 4 rides in with it anyway.

The Dark Knight - 5
BTR - 1
Viper - 1
Whizzer - 1
Revolution - 1
Orbit - 1
Total - 10

It was a good day. TDK is awesome. Personally, I don't care for the pre-show a whole lot. Also, I think there could be more effects during the ride, but that's just my opinion. I guess they want it to be a family ride also, so I suppose too many effects would ruin that idea. I'm not really complaining. It's a good ride.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention. While we were in the parking lot around 3:30 or something, I noticed Bull was testing with the teal train! Was I seeing right? They added the teal train? I was like, about damn time they add the teal train! Too bad I wasn't planning on riding it.

They did throw teal train on later in the day, but they have to cycle it 50 times before passengers can ride it. The op told me they should have it going by saturday.

Yeah, teal was on at around 3:30 so we ran over there.
They had 25 cycles done at around 4 something, so it could even be running with guests today.

I was sitting behind you (in the same car) when the ops told you about the rats :D
So if that's the photo you bought, I'm the random guy with the brown shirt on.

I'm talking about the wrong ride then, lol, I suppose this was the ride before our last ride on it. Our last ride we were the only ones in the car, and that's the photo we bought. Were you with a guy wearing green or something?
