5/17/08 - TDK Testing, Music in the Parks...

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVuGurl1203 on May 18th, 2008, 1:05 pm
This was definitely a fun day. I went with 7 people including my boyfriend. Crowds were a bit large, but we got on a lot. One girl we were with, Stephanie, had never been there before and was scared to ride the roller coasters. We started her out with Whizzer, Viper, Bull, Demon, AE, SSR, and eventually BTR. She threw up after riding BTR. She also went on Iron Wolf later on. It was interesting trying to get her on the rides.

Bull - 2
Our first ride was some time after the park opened. The second time was at night when the park closed, and it was amazing. We had the second to last ride. Also, I talked with someone who was there and he told me some things that were going on in the park and whatnot.

AER - 2
First ride was during the day and it was good. But the next time was even better. It was night time after it had rained and a lot of people left the park. We walked right into the back row, and it was FAST. I'd never had so much airtime during the first drop before. It was amazing, even though during the helix my head slammed into my boyfriend's shoulder, which hurt my ear for a minute or so. It was crazy fast, I was screaming the entire ride.

SUF - 1
This was right before Eagle at night. We got in the second to last row, and for some reason this felt like a really good ride. When we got off, an employee I know told me TDK was testing, so I got all hyped up and ran down there to see. When I glanced at it, I saw two cars testing. One going through a turn, and one going up the lift. This made me very excited, and I was energetic for the rest of the night until we were in the car ride home.

Roaring Rapids - 1
We went on this some hours after riding Logger's Run. It was very cold, and very funny when the employee sprayed us. When we were passing the rest of the jets I saw no one by any of them, so I figured there was nothing to be afraid of. Wrong! All of a sudden water smacks me in the face (right between my sunglasses and eye) ad I got even more soaked. Fun ride nonetheless.

Logger's Run - 1
Our two friends who were in the same boat as us ducked when we hit the water, so I was the one who mostly got soaked. Haha...

BTR - 1
I sat in the middle for once. It was a really fun ride, reminded me of old times when I was afraid of the rides and would sit in the middle seat.

Demon - 2
My experience on Demon today was much better than opening day. I sat a different way both times. The first time was little headbanging, and the second time I had no headbanging, so it was nice.

Whizzer - 1
First ride of the day. Was fun and they fixed the brakes, so there was no whiplash.

Giant Drop - 1
Stephanie was also scared to ride this. It was funny hearing her scream her head off.

River Rocker - 1

Rue Le Dodge - 1

Viper - 2
The second time we went on this, well, before we got on, the ride broke down. At first, I thought the airgates wouldn't open. Then, I realized people were sill on the train, so I thought the lapbars were refusing to open. Then I realized that the train wasn't even all the way in the station. They had to manually open the lapbars, and eventually they got it to move again.

Spacely's - 1
Yep, for some reason everybody wanted to ride it. A couple of them rode it a second time.

King Chaos - 1

Total - 18

I had a lot of fun, and I can't wait until Wednesday. It's going to be awesome.

That's ironic, because whenever I ride AE at night, it seems SO much faster. It's sort of bizarre, but it's a great feeling!!!

Where did you ride on the train? I was there today, and noticed that the whiplash is worse the farther back you sit. I rode in the front, and it was ok. However, on my next ride, I was in the back, and man..it was bad.

I was looking at the first set of brakes at the end of the ride, and noticed that (at least on the right side) you can see the new nuts on all the bolts. Maybe this is why they are working really good, as they just replaced everything! :)

Hmm, that is weird. On Wednesday, we rode it twice, in front and in back. Both times felt exactly the same, bad whiplash. Saturday we rode it in the back, and felt no whiplash.
