Went for the first time since opening weekend in May. Glad I went or I would've felt like my season pass went to waste.
Ok, here we go with the usual LONG report...
Woke up at 8am automatically for some reason. It was way to early so I let myself fall asleep again. Finally got up around 11am got ready and was out the door sometime around noon. The weather in Milwaukee was rainy dark and dreary but I was cool with it.
The Marquette Interchange exits are all still messed up so I took the usual route via 6th street which was a great direct route to the I-94 east onramp. The traffic was great until I got to Kenosha. It was so backed up and it looks like more construction is being done on the tolls and even before that so HWY 41 wasn't even an escape route. Finally got to the park sometime after 1pm. Splashed through two of the biggest puddles ever and got to the parking gates. Having the season parking pass too is awesome since I remembered that there was VIP parking. So I got to park in Lot 30 and headed in.
The rain was coming down pretty good but it wasn't too annoying. Checked in and ran to the boy's room since the 3 Mountain Dew's I had kicked in(actually they did in the traffic but I did my best to ignore it).
First ride was Superstition. I was so glad that this was back this year. I remember one FF in the past where they didn't have it. Anyway, got right in and didn't have to wait in line. Oh I did get to watch the pre-Elvira video in the waiting station which is just as funny even though I've seen it a million times, it never gets old. I sat in row 3 towards the middle which was a pretty good direct view. Even though I have this whole thing memorized it's still a blast to watch this and I notice something different each time. I'll have to admit the ride is pretty rough with the bumping seats and there are parts where I just cringe but that is part of its charm.
Went back out into the rain and then headed to Hometown Fun Machine. Waited one ride cycle which wasn't as much fun since the rain picked up at this point. When I boarded, it was onto a wet seat that was a huge puddle, ugh. I survived though and it was actually a thrill since I haven't been on a single carnival ride all summer(since May) so this sort of was the first.
Next it was off to Tripple Play. GREAT RIDE! I make sure to ride this everytime it's open. I sat in the "green section" and didn't have to wait in line at all, got right on.
Then I headed onto the Orbit. They had already boarded but there were a few extra seats so they let me on, yay. The rain started again and even though the ride was fun I was getting pelted with rain in my eyes. Didn't mind.
First coaster, Demon! The red train was running again which is cool. Again, no line and I got the back seat in the black train. Rode this twice without leaving my seat because there was no line. Then the station filled up so I left.
After that I went on Giant Drop. Normally this is named Hellevator for FF but that sign was on Deja Vu instead for some reason. Anyway, got right on and this was fun as always. The key to getting the most "drop stomach feeling" is to keep your eyes open and look straight down.
Went to Raging Bull next. First line of the day, but it was only 30 mins. The leaky canvas tarps over the last set of switchbacks were worse then just being out in the open rain but that part of the line moved pretty quickly. Got the back row on the red train and by then the rain stopped so it was a nice ride without the rain pelting on you.
Next went on Terror Twister(forget what this is normally called, but it's a teacup ride). They played Faithless-Insomnia when I rode which will never get old. My cup starting spinning as soon as the ride started(well actually I spun it) and it never stopped until the end. Was totally dizzy for a few mins after that.
Did some shopping after that and found nothing.
Next, went on the American Eagle. The new line queue setup didn't seem as bad as it was when I went in May but the back and forth got you dizzier than the actual ride. Rode somewhere in the middle on the red train and enjoyed it.
Headed off to Revolution next. Only had to wait one ride cycle. Very cool this year since the first half of the ride spins more than it has in the past. Second part(reverse) is just as good as always. However, the floor when you boarded this was totally slippery, I grabbed onto everything I could just to get to my seat.
Decided to check out Necropolis next. I went through most of it pretty quick since I forgot where that "exploding port-o-potty" thing was and didn't want to get nailed with water since I was just drying off. Cool setup as always and luckily nothing jumped out and scared me like last year.
Then, went on King Chaos, 3 times in a row(no wait). I will never get sick of this ride. I would've kept going on it but I was starving. So I went to the hand stamp place and you now get wristbands and no more dayglow messy ink(which was good since last year I got part of my sweatshirt sleeve stamped).
Once I got back in, took the clockwise route.
I went to The Birds(Condor) first. Amazing ride this year. You spun on the ground alot longer and once you get to the top you are up there for what seems a really long time and the cars actually slow down. Very cool! I'm surprised this wasn't as busy because this was worth it in so many ways. Also loved the black crow theming that was all over the ride.
Next, went on the Monster Mash(East River Crawler). Only waited one ride cycle. It took forever to board and get the thing running and my seat barely spun once, but it was still cool.
After that, went on my fave coaster still(well the Demon comes close) Batman. The line queue was pretty full and so was the entire switchback station before the storm drain tunnel but it only took about 30 mins. Rode in the middle somewhere and the amazing thing was that I didn't bang my head once, not that this is a rough ride but I usually can get a couple of head bashes in on the half corkscrews. I think there are new seatbelts on the harnesses this year, alot of us had trouble buckling these because they were different.
Then it was off to Fiddler's Flung(Fling). Waited one ride cycle and fun as always. I rode in the lucky "7" car. The ride went by really quick though.
Next, headed to Predator(aka Iron Wolf). They changed the FF name again? The theming was cool though and I liked the crashed UFO thing that was going on. Sat somewhere in the middle after 2 ride cycles and it was a great ride. It was actually dark out by this time which made it more fun.
Went on the Eagle again for a nightride. Rode the blue train this time. Love this thing at night! Another thing that I noticed is that the trim brakes weren't as active on the mid-course helix which was really cool. That part seemed to be much more fun today. Was cool to see the spider web theming in the station at night on this.
Headed to the Demon again. Totally loved the red-light theming and made up for the tunnel lights that weren't working. However, it was cool going through a dark tunnel at night like that.
Then I went on Superstition again. This ride was totally dead by this time but I got a front seat row and loved it. Love me some Elvira.
Last ride of the night was Superman. It broke down as I got in line but I waited a few and it was back and running again. Only one train was going so this really held it up. I didn't keep track of how long it took but it was around 8pm when I was done. I rode the back seat and I seriously love this thing more everytime I ride it(well except for the gum wads on top of the canopys which is just nasty).
Even though there was an hour left I was pretty cold so I went to the store in front of the park and got a really cool Ride Guide and Checklist book which I never saw before and then a flashing solar keychain with my name on it. Normally they always run out of the name "John" everywhere you go.
I am going 2 more days this season. Next Saturday and then the following Sunday. =D
