Well, today (August 5th) was my little sister's birthday, so we took a little trip to Green Bay (WI), and hit up Bay Beach. Travis is probably the only other person who knows of this place... It's a really small park with only a few flat rides. All they mostly have are the little kiddie rides, but they've got a few bigger flats. I'm not a flats expert, so I don't know the official ride types, but a few are: Scrambler (a.k.a. Hometown Fun-Machine at GAm), Tilt-a-Whirl, Scat, a Chance-Morgan swing ride called Yo-Yo. Then they've also got a ferris wheel, carousel, giant slide, train, and a bunch of little kiddie rides. The day was fun, but it was hot. Mostly little kids go to this park, so it's not a ton of fun for kids our age. The 'scariest' (to a little kid at least) would probably be Scat... I can't really describe the ride, but you stand up and it spins fast so you're pinned to the seat. The giant slide is actually cool, because you do get quite a bit of airtime. Same with on the ferris wheel, you get that 'butterflies in your stomach' feel. The costs are pretty cheap (though they raised prices of tickets). It's 25 cents per ticket, and the bigger rides are 2 tickets. It used to be 10 cents per ticket, but they've raised it. The park is owned and run by the Green Bay Parks and Rec Dept. so it's not like they've got a huge budget. I heard on the news they would maybe add a roller coaster, but who knows. Thanks for reading.
I havn't gone for 2 years. Sounds like nothing is new. A picture of a Scat ride is here. It's like a Rotor, except more open, and spins on 2 rotations, one on an angle. in my opinion its much more fun than a Rotor. The only real "thrilling" rides there are the Tilt-o-Whirl if you can get good spin, the Scat, and the slide. That slide is the most terrifying thing you can do if you're only 3 years old. I remember my first ride on it, it was 100 miles high! BTW, did you go to the wildlife park? If you ask me, that is worth more time than the amusement park, unless the bugs are bad.
I know of this place too!! I've been there tons of times in my lifetime. I live about an hour north of Green Bay, and when I was little, my family used to go to Bay Beach for a few hours everytime we went to Green Bay.It was a fun place, until I visited Great America, and now everything at Bay Beach looks really dinky
I've been to Bay Beach once. Back in 2000 I went to the Packers training camp, and we took a visit to Bay Beach. It's a nice little park even though it doesn't have any big rides; I really enjoyed my trip there. I must've rode Scat like 10 times (I can't believe I actually rode all those spin-and-pukes).
Grandpa and Grannie lives up there, go every summer
