Hoped the morning rain and gloom would keep crowds down today. It did for the first few hours at least.
No traffic at all from Chicago. Got there early enough to eat at the IHOP. Best IHOP food I've ever had at this one. Hardly anybody in the lot at 9:30, but a decent crowd at the chains by 10. That morning show is so corny. Not awful, just corny.
We got 2nd train of the day, back row of Bull and had an awesome ride. Then we walked on Viper. Always fun. Headed over to Vu for a TWO CYCLE wait for 2A. I was happy. I've never waited less that 45 minutes for Vu and think I've only been lucky enough to ride it 3 or 4 times before. It was a great ride. Then we rode Demon and Giant Drop. Glad the Drop is finally back. My friend likes it better than Power Tower. We went next to Whizzer, but it was down. So my friend went to get her Big Six pass processed. When she was done, the Whiz had just reopened so we had a walk on. I really love this ride. It's one of the best in the park.
By now, it was really humid and warmer, so we went to the car and got our HH stuff. People had started pouring in as we re-entered and headed through New Orleans and Mardi Gras. Lines were all too long for us now. We just walked around Wiggles World for the first time. It was packed in there. but what a great addition to the park for the kiddies. Such a better use for that tent even though the AE que line is ridiculous now.
When we got to HH the crowds were still pretty thin. It was a little before 1PM. We left the credit card in the car and didn't have change for the locker. The bar would only make change if we bought something. Bogus. We got a coke and went to the lockers closest to Skull Island. There was NOBODY using these lockers. NOBODY. But amazingly all the cheaper lockers said they were rented forcing us get a $15 dollar locker. You can't tell me this is not a scam. No way were all the other lockers taken. I know it's only 2 bucks, but still.
Skull Island was first as always. Then no wait for Castaway Creek. Very cold! It was still pretty cloudy. We hit the wave pool and the body slides at Vortex and Typhoon. We went back to Skull Island for a long time and watched HH fill up fast as it got warmer and sunnier. When we went to Castaway Creek again, we had to wait through all the ques to get a tube, where we actually had the pleasure of watching a group get busted down for trying to line jump. Did the wave pool again and decided to leave as the annoying announcement about HH nearing capacity started up.
We walked by Bull after the water park and passed. The line was only back to the ques though. I rode good ole River Rocker while my friend went to the restroom. This ride makes me more nauseous than any other ride I can think of except maybe Calypso.
We decided to call it day since it was pretty crowded now and we were more than satisfied with the early start we got with the coasters and the water park. I can't believe only one more month for HH!
