So today, I went with of all people my mom to the Wisconsin State Fair. She likes seeing the animals, so that's why she was willing to go with me and pay for me and everything. We got there a little after 5:00.
So anyway, she always wants to see animals first, so we head in that direction and she stops and sees some necklaces that "look pretty", lol. Then she buys one for $15 (exciting, no? LOL) Anyway, then she goes into some leather shop also on the way and buys a shirt.
Anyway, then she wants to stop and watch a band for a few minutes (yawn, but I didn't really say anything), and finally we go to the animals. They were changing the pigs that were in the barn so no pigs. Then it came time for the sheep, then the horses, which my mom loves but I don't know what's so fascinating about them. We skipped the cows because like my mom said "You've seen one cow, you've seen 'em all." Then we headed to the poultry and rabbits thing, but no rabbits. Eh, who cares? Finally, we went to midway. It was, I think about 6:30 or somewhere around there.
My mom won't go on any rides. She's too afraid, although she always goes on the roller coaster with me, although this year, THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT! Eh, well. I got my wristband, then headed to Kamikaze, the swinging inverter ships. The guy in front of me's hat fell off and someone behind me caught it and then after the ride, she put it on my head to pass it to me, and then I passed it to him, lol. I thought he lost it. I'd never wear a hat on that ride.
Anyway, then I decided to go on Genesis, which is like Trailblazer only less than half as tall, I'd say. Kind of weak, but I figured I'd try it.
Then it was Double Shock time, which was the same kind of ride but it went higher and there were two of those things back to back.
Now, it was time for Xtreme, which used to be called Freak-Out. You sit in a circle in hanging chairs (feet dangling) facing each other and the whole thing rotates up to about 90 degrees. But the best part and the best forces didn't last very long, so it was weaker than I remember from past years.
Then I was thirsty and so was my mom, so we got some sodas, then I headed for a new ride. Well, new for me because I never went on it before, although it was there in past years. The Shocker. A.K.A. my new favorite State Fair ride. Three seperate arms of four seats each rotating all over the place and spinning 360 degrees while the giant arm that controls it all goes all over the place. Killer! It was awesome and sometimes you feel like you are going to fall out, diagonally. I know that sounds weird, but anyway.
Time for another new ride for me. The Spin Out. The same basic setup for seating as Xtreme, but while it spins, the arm controlling it moves and eventually flips everyone to 180 degrees and has you rotating completely upside down for a while. It repeats this about 3 or 4 times and thus makes for a fairly long ride.
Well, it was almost 9:00 and I was hungry and I'm always afraid that if I eat and then go on rides like Shocker or Spin Out or Kamikaze, etc. that I'm gonna puke. I don't think I have that bad of a nausea tolerance, but I'm always on the safe side, so we went to get something to eat, then got some cream puffs to go and left about 9:30 or so. So I got six rides and every ride was a walk-on, because the crowds weren't nearly as bad as they are some days at that place.

Hee hee, look. I have a signature thingy um, thing.
I was just joking around. She knows it. I do that all the time. It doesn't bother her. I was even saying everything with a laugh and a smile. But yeah, anybody I didn't know personally or a casual friend or heck, even any non immediate family member, even one I knew well chose to take me and pay for me and everything, I wouldn't be like that. I realize now it sounds bad, though. She does similar things like that to me, like when I had a job and money and I'd be nice and pay for her, she'd say stuff like that, but I know she's joking, so.
Oh and P.S., I also did thank her for taking me to the Fair and paying and everything and she also thanked me for going because she likes going with me, so.

My parents used to take me the Wisconsin state fair every year when I was growing up.
We would have preferred doing the Illinois fair, but since we lived near Gurnee and Waukegan at the time, the Wisconsin fair was chosen because of drive time.
They used to always have some great rides. I guess it hasn't changed.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Thats cause I don't think its the same model as Freak Out. I've only driven past on the highway a few times but it doesn't look like the same ride as the past few years. It actually looks like they got rid of probably the top three rides in the Midway from last year to this year. Bummer.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2 Coaster Count: 444
Yeah, it looked pretty much the same, but it must be a different model. I seem to remember Freak Out lasting longer, especially the parts where it goes it's highest. I mean, it reached it's highest point like 2 or 3 times and that was it, so it was kind of weak. But that Shocker, oh boy! If anyone is planning on going for the very first time or if you've gone in the past and never rode it, I recommend it. It is so cool. I never say anything on rides because well, I don't like doing that, but I was like "Whoa, dude!" LOL

I remember when they had Mondial Rides there, Shake and Top Scan. Every since Murphy Brothers Expo took their show to China all their fairs havent been the same, as they are all covered by Reed Expo and they dont book in to much stuff outside of what they own (though the Freak Out is a book in)
