Let's try out SFStL 7/7/07

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Well this was my first visit to SFStL. I was a bit fearful of crowds because it was a saturday but it ended up to be a great day.

Tony Hawk's Big Spin: It was a pretty fun ride. We had some decent spinning going on and the ride has some nice drops and a little airtime. The on-ride video part is really cool with the cameras in the center of the car. It was sweet because you could preview it once you got off too. However $20 seemed a little pricey for a 2 minute clip and the whole video is pretty much just everyone's faces. You can somewhat see what was going on around you.

The Boss: Walked right onto it the first time and then it was about a 15 min. wait later in the day. First time on we were in the back row. Wow what a ride. It was rough in some parts and pretty vicious but I still loved it. It was awsome that after the first drop instead of going up right away you drop a little more. And the last helix was pretty was wild too. The other members in my group were pretty roughened up after the Boss so I didn't ride again until later in the day. The second ride we were in the 2nd car and it was a heck of a lot more rough. Between each hill it felt like I was riding a jackhammer. But hey the Boss still became my favorite wooden coaster.

Excaliber: Pretty cool ride although it was weird that it only went around once. And once you get on though it feels like you're spinning faster than it looks. It was awsome spinning at the top though.

Screamin' Eagle: It was pretty good, wish I got on it more than once though. It was sweet going through the forest area. (While in line for the Boss the second time we saw a deer standing under Screamin' Eagle.)

River King Mine Train: Meh, it was okay. The ending was nice although it was a weird way to end.

Ninja: Sat in back row for this one and got some great airtime on the little dip into the turnaround and the first drop. I actually ended up enjoying this ride way more than I expected. The headchopper was sweet too.

Batman: The Ride: Well I already love ours so I enjoyed this one. It was interesting seeing it mirrored but it pretty much felt the same. What sucked was the line was really freaking long and you pretty much had to walk through the whole thing. Another thing was that instead of soaring over trees and that small pond you just soared over what seemed like a desert.

Log Flume: Decent but small and I didn't get too wet but that's okay. This log flume has those water cannons like at Roaring Rapids, so I spent some quarters on those.

Scooby Doo Ghostblasters: This ride was awsome and had great theming. For a bit there I even forgot I was in six flags. It was fun being in a boat and being shot with water by some of the targets you hit. Great ride, wish I got on it a few more times.

Mr Freeze: Well the line for front row was as long as the other rows so we just decided to wait for it. The launch was amazing in the front and it ended up being a great ride overall. Man the seats really sunk in, but they were rather comfortable and the lap bar restraints were a lot nicer than OTSR would have been. I loved the extra boost up the vertical part too.

I also rode several other flats.

Well overall I had a great day. Employees were friendly, lines were short, saw a lot of walk-ons (lines didn't pick up until later in the day and even then they still weren't bad). Our longest wait was for Batman and even that wait wasn't that bad.
I only got to do everything I wanted only once or twice because we only had 5 hours and I wanted to be sure I tried everything I wanted to at least once. But the park was really nice and I thought that it was great that it wasn't just on flat land. The rides actually had some terrain to play off of.
Overall I found it to be a nice park and I wouldn't mind coming back.

I was there on that Friday night and two employees rode trying to see if the deer was out there!
