Physics Day!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Trailblazer Tony on May 18th, 2007, 12:28 pm
Despite the fact that i'm not in physics, i decided to go anyways, especially since my brother was there and wanted me to meet up. So after a 2 hour drive up, i parked in front row (thank you season parking pass :) ) and began my day.

Triple Play: I rode this twice for my first two rides of the day. The first time I was the only one on the entire ride, so I stayed on for a second ride which only had like 3 other people.

Whizzer: It seemed rougher than usual this year, but it was nice to finally get back on it. It was a walk on ride in 2nd row!

Viper: After Whizzer, I met up with my brother and headed over to Viper where we rode an AWESOME back row ride and bought our first picture of the year! I have to say, after riding most of the coasters, Viper seems to be the best this year! It was a 20 minute wait.

Giant Drop: After waiting 35 minutes (the longest wait of the day) we got a ride on the side facing the highway, which believe it or not, was my 1st time riding on that side!

Raging Bull: After looking at the line for this one, my brother turned away, but I knew it wouldn't take long and rode anyway. 25 minute wait for back row, and just like with Whizzer, it was nice to finally get back on this thing!

From here, i returned to another walk on wait at Whizzer where i was able to stay on for a reride!

Hometown Fun Machine: Hadn't been on this in years so I thought i'd give it a try! Great ride, don't know why i didn't like it before. It was a 1/2 cycle wait.

Ragin Cajun: With cookie and soda in hand, I made my way over to they other side of the park (which thanks to a slightly bad opening day, i have not ridden anything here yet this year). After a 20 minute wait, i rode a great solo ride on this thing. I tell you, if you way 200 lbs. and you ride this thing alone, prepare to spin BIG TIME!!!!

East River Crawler: Once again, hadn't rode in a while and it had a one cycle wait, so i rode it. Decent ride, and it spun really well with my weight...one good thing about being slightly fat ;)

Whirligig: It was a one cycle wait, and i love this ride, so i rode this as well. I only got 3/4 of a ride out of it thanks to some moron with a cellphone out, but great ride nonetheless.

Vertical Velocity: Time to get back on some coasters and none better than my favorite in the park!!!!! 25 minute wait for back row! Great ride, as always, and i even got to sit next to a REALLY hot chick (the g/f is in Italy so I can look J/K), so alls good 8)

Iron Wolf: After running into my brother at V2, we decided to head over to give this ride our usual yearly visit. And as always, it hurt...BAD...i can't stress my hatred for this ride enough. 15 minute wait for 5th row.

After lunch with the bro and 10 minutes in the Wii room, it was time to make my final rides of the day. I returned over to Giant Drop for a walk on ride and Raging Bull for a 20 minute wait and a near back ride! Last of the day, and one of the best of the day!

Observations: It was clearly physics day for high schoolers! Most of the big rides had 20-30 minute waits, while all the flats (Including King Chaos and Revy) and Whizzer were practically walk ons! Sky Trek Tower moved the cabin down to nearly the bottom half way through the day, but not much action with Deja Vu. Rides Closed: Loggers Run, both kiddy sections in Yukon, Eagle Blue, Deja Vu, and Sky Trek Tower. Oh, and lost and found only keeps hats for 3 days.
