A series of headaches (Opening Day)

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Trailblazer Tony on May 7th, 2007, 12:45 am
Got to the park in record timing with my little brother, parked, and waited by the bridge to Hometown Square for the chain drop.

At the drop of the chain, we sprinted to Viper and were second and third in line!!! Viper was running amazing today! We rode it first in back row, then in front row.

From here, we came up with this crazy idea that we would ride every single attraction in the park once and for each coaster, we would ride once in front row, once in back row. So after Viper, we rode Chubasco, followed by Ricochet, followed by Giant Drop, and then River Rocker. We decided to skip Bull for the last ride to complete our circle.

At this point we were a little sick to our stomachs from the spinning rides so we rode Demon once in front and then once in back. Both times were excellent as well. These were both the best rides i'd had on Demon in a long time and the new decals in front look nice! (Which me and the very friendly ride op. had a nice chat about)

From here we went on Revolution, followed by American Eagle in back row. Although the ride ops for Eagle are amazing this year, the ride, in my opinion, was horrible!!!! And by the time we got off, we were both crazy sick. So we attempted to do some cooling down by riding every attraction (minus the frog hopper) in the new Wiggles World section! However, that still didn't work (especially after the little tea cups), so we took the Scenic Railway back to the front of the park and had lunch in the car. And it was here that things started to suck.

So my brother was dizzy, so he passed out in the car while i went into the park to take a crazy number at pictures. When i got back, he got up, and we started heading back to the park. At this point time, we realized we had locked the keys in the car. So we went to guest services, called Steve (the locksmith) and set up a time to meet him. From here, we went to get our passes processed. After waiting about a half hour, it was time to meet Steve so we got out of line and went to the car, where i lost 40 bucks to get the keys out. Then we got back and waited another half hour in the processing line where i lost another 60 bucks to upgrade the parking pass. Now, i have never done the parking pass before, but it kind of stinks that the pass is per customer, not per car. So rather than splitting it between us sibblings, only one could have it. So i ended up paying the whole thing.

So between the sun burn i realized I got in the morning, the long lines at the processing center, and the incredible loss of money (most of which unexpected), we realized we could no longer afford dinner and we were getting hungry. So i wanted to get one quick last ride in and that was Triple Play! Great ride, however, it made us both sick once again and on top of things, I would realize later on that i left my lucky Dueling Dragons hat on the ride.

So what started off as a good day, ended off early with a bad headache, an empty wallet, an achy face, a lost possession, and a low ride count.

However, the new additions and the park as a whole seemed excellent! Vertical Velocity and Ragin Cajun both seemed to be running wonderfully, the new misters were a huge success, Wiggles World was actually (and i'm afraid to admit this) quite fun for both the kids and the parents (not to mention Eagle's tent has never looked better!), and the staff seemed friendly! Great job Six Flags, and i'm sure my next experience will be better!

Triple Play: 1
Viper: 2
Chubasco: 1
Ricochet: 1
River Rocker: 1
Giant Drop: 1
Demon: 2
Revolution: 1
American Eagle Red: 1

So you don't have to have a child under 54" to ride the Wiggle's World rides?
Eh.......I got nothing.

^Well, i didn't, i don't know if that rule will begin to be enforced later on in the season, but at the moment, no.

And sixflagsdude, I always say what i'll be wearing in the meetings and gatherings forum so if you ever see me, say hi. Or PM me to meet up sometime, i'm fairly approachable.

Right now I think they are more trying to get the general policies down for the ride first, then worry about the "little things" later.

I believe the rule will depend upon the line, but once again...things are probably not set in stone yet...

Obviously, children will have first priority. If there's a group of 8 "adults" wanting to ride (without children) and parents with young children behind them, it is safe to assume that the children/parents will board first and then take it from there.

I wouldn't be surprised if you needed to be accompanied by a child by the middle of the season, but time will tell.

Another thing is since children under 36" must be accompanied by an adult, some parents don't want to ride, so I've seen teens etc. in like ride with the kiddies because the parents didn't want to. Heck, even the supervisors will do it to make sure the kids get to ride!

we rode all the rides in wiggles world too. You don't need a kid for it.

Anyone that is over 54" can be the only one one the ride over 54" but kids can ride with you. That is the general rule for wiggles world for the whole season. So if your in a group with a bunch of people too tall they will split you up one by one with kids. The rides are awesome though I have to admit.
